This material was prepared in response to numerous requests from members of my group "Cutting, Sewing and Free Patterns", who are interested in skirt patterns.
Photos are also provided by the members of this group.
Sewing clothes always causes a lot of difficulties and questions, especially for beginner couturiers.
Consider very simple models that are easier to cut than a classic straight skirt.
By the way, a straight skirt is recommended as the first product for those who wish to master the technique of cutting and sewing.
How to cut a straight skirt can be found here, but if you have no time, then
ready-made pattern of a straight skirt
can be downloaded almost for free in the pattern store.
How to cut a straight skirt
In photo 1 you see a simple dress with a bodice of the "pipe" type, the back of which is stitched with rubber thread, which is wound on a bobbin.
The skirt of this product, remarkable for its simplicity, is cut out as follows (Fig. 1 a).
Fold the fabric in half, matching the edges, and measure the length of the skirt along the fold of the fabric and along the edges.
Draw a line along the marks and cut. Round one corner from the side of the edges.
The rounded corner in this case continues the bottom line.
Please note that any thin fabric is suitable for this model.
But the model itself is suitable only for young thin girls and girls whose hip circumference does not exceed 90 cm.
Of course, plump women also want to, but in this case, to calculate the width of the skirt at the waist, you will have to use the formula:
1/2 (Ob + Sat + 10cm)
Explanation of measurement designations in the article "How to take measurements."
Open skirts option 2
Open the next model of the skirt, which is shown in photo 2, so to speak, "diametrically opposed" (Fig. 1 b).
We do everything the same, only we consider a rounded cut as a waist. In the figure, it is circled in red dotted line.
Please note that ONLY a thin highly stretchable stretch is suitable for sewing a skirt from photo 2!
I will add that this model is uncomfortable to wear and is not recommended for girls with wide hips.
We cut a skirt with our own hands - style 3
And one more style (photo 3), which, in view of the poor quality of the photo, I thought.
According to my version, this skirt consists of two skirts made of thin translucent fabric.
The underskirt is straight (see links to straight skirt patterns above).
And the top one is drapery, which is adjusted directly to the elastic waistband of the lower skirt.
The pattern of the upper skirt is a rectangle (Fig. 2).
In the middle of the front there is an assembly, which is attached to the elastic waistband.
The side part of the drapery sags.
In the middle at the back there is a seam and the same attachment to the elastic waistband.
The only difficulty is the need to fix the drapery directly on the figure.
But on the other hand, this style is suitable for almost hips of all sizes and configurations, of course, for puffies, the skirt should be longer.
All three skirts can be made with a wide elastic band instead of a belt and without a fastener, so read
"How to sew a skirt with an elastic band".
