Babydoll style dresses have been in trend for several years, both among children's dresses and among women.
Children's patterns of such dresses are distinguished by laconic simplicity and will require minimal sewing skills from home couturiers.
According to this pattern of dresses for girls, you get at least three:
- with a sleeve (photo 1),
- with the simplest flashlight (photo 2 - see

How to sew a baby dress according to a pattern
So, this free dress pattern for girls (Fig. 1) is a great example of sewing for beginner tailors.
The set includes a bodice pattern without a side seam and a wide sleeve pattern.
To cut, fold the fabric in half, while the combined edges should be parallel to the edge of the cutting table.
Lay the patterns on the fabric (Fig. 2).
Allowances - 1 cm, except for the neckline, sprout, armhole and rim, which are cut out beyond the stroke line of the patterns.
The pattern of a straight Tatyanka skirt is a rectangle of fabric that can be assembled at the waist or laid with soft folds.
Calculating the width of such a skirt is not difficult.
The width of the skirt is one and a half - two widths of the bodice.
For "frequent" assembly and counter warehouse - two widths of the bodice or so.
For "rare" - one and a half width of the bodice.
If the fabric is very dense and / or thick, then it is better to take one and a half widths.
For oncoming warehouses made of thin fabric, even three bodice widths are acceptable.
I will allow myself one more small sewing lesson: mark the length of the bodice on the fitting.
It can be quite short, as in photo 2.
Options for processing the neck in dresses
There remains one more question that confronts every sewing lover: how to process the neck?
I offer a choice of two simple options:
trim with bias tape

or process by turning.
As you can see, everything is extremely simple. So now almost any mother, when asked where she bought such a beautiful dress, can proudly answer: I sew myself!
