Description of the design of a simple oversized double-breasted jacket pattern
A style from the “it couldn’t be simpler” series.
Essentially, this jacket is the same bomber jacket, but double-breasted with buttons and a cut-out neckline.
The sleeve is non-stop - the one that does not need to be pulled in. The line of the elbow roll is marked on the drawing for those who want to process the vent on the sleeve in a special way or cut out a sleeve from the rest of the fabric.
The horizontal line on the sleeve dart makes it possible to process the vent, as in a blouse.
What to make a simple oversized women's jacket from
Experienced couturiers can take either a ready-made quilted raincoat fabric or independently quilt a regular footer on a “felt” or fur base.
You can also quilt knitwear with padding polyester and lining. Knitwear, padding polyester, lining - quilt together in one “package”.
For beginners, it is better to take ready-made sandwich knitwear or other material that does not require lining. Fleece and fleece are ideal.
Consumption with a width of 150 cm will be from 130 to 190 cm.
The consumption for a width of 180 cm for all sizes will be 130 cm. Of course, for larger sizes the lunge area will be smaller.
The consumption for a belt-cuff made of dovyaz (cuff knitwear) is 10 cm. If there are also cuffs on the sleeves, add another 10 cm. Total, 20 cm.

How to cut a simple oversized women's jacket using a ready-made pattern
We start with choosing the size.
Pg (chest increase) = 11 cm. This is a fairly large increase for a light jacket.
Size number = Cg (Pog - half chest circumference).
In order not to miss, you can measure your favorite oversized jacket and compare the size with the pattern, measuring the width of the back and front half-skid. Or you can blindly take a couple sizes larger than your size number.
Since the increase is quite large, we can sew the product on an overlocker with a knitted seam and cut it without seam allowances (picture 2).
Please note that the edging is cut out together with the shelf as one piece.
The seam allowance is only required for the strap - 1 cm. The length of the strap or cuff can be adjusted locally.
In Fig. Figure 2 shows the cutting of a sleeve with a simple slot, the line for which is marked in the drawing.
The cuff belt at the bottom of the jacket, as you already know, is a rectangular strip 10 cm wide when cut. The length of the cuff belt in cutting is determined based on the waist circumference.
From (waist circumference) minus 15 cm.
After cutting, we will mark the bead edge line and the half-skid line.
How to sew
Before you start sewing, let’s take a closer look at the combined Shelf-Heading part (picture 3). We combined it to simplify processing and reduce time for it, so how the edge of the side of such a part is simply ironed.
But let's start by gluing a strip of doublerin or a special edging edge near the edge of the bead and along the neck. And only after that we iron the side.
Then, you should make a notch into a corner 0,5–0,7 cm long, as shown in Fig. 3, and you can start sewing.
Most of the stitching will be done on an overlocker. knitted stitch It's fast, convenient and produces strong elastic seams.
См. также how to set up overlock
The overlock setting should be done before you start sewing the product.
The further sewing sequence is approximately as follows:
- Sew the shoulder seams with a knitted seam, underlining a strip of cooler fabric 1 cm wide. Please note, we sew the shoulder seams of the front-back with an overlocker, underlining a strip of knitwear, and it is better to sew the shoulder seams of the Facing and Hemming on a machine using a straight stitch and ironing. We iron each line by pressing it (bending it in one direction) or ironing the seam (laying the seam allowances on both sides).
- We grind the neckline and overcast the edge of the Hem-Head. Don’t forget to cut the seam allowance along the concave line, fold it over to the hem and topstitch. At the end of the operation, we iron it and secure it with a stitch or an adhesive edge.
- We sew the sleeve on the overlocker, distributing the edging evenly along the armhole. Iron the seam.
- Sew the side seams using an overlocker and press the seams.
- We iron the cuff belt along the part in half and fold it in half. Then we grind from notch to notch along the bottom of the jacket, distributing it evenly. We grind the ends of the belt and process the bottom of the sides.
- We grind the straps or process these parts like cuffs for a blouse. This is optional.
- Buttons or buttons.
