Description of the design of the pattern of quilted women's trousers with pockets
A very simple style with a laconic silhouette, allowing you to do without additional details.
The pocket is similar in design to the “cut-off barrel”, but it is even easier to process.
Belt - on an elastic band.
What to make quilted trousers from
The choice of fabric depends not only on how and where you are going to wear the trousers, but also on the desired degree of complexity.
In any case, it is raincoat fabric and insulation or quilted raincoat fabric.
When choosing, pay attention to the fact that raincoat fabric with a slippery surface will be inconvenient if you sit in trousers. For example, while driving. If you plan to wear trousers or play sports, then this does not matter.
Is it worth it to quilt raincoat fabric yourself?
You can do it yourself, but this increases the complexity of the product. It is better for beginning couturiers to use ready-made materials.
In addition to raincoat fabric, such trousers can also be sewn from sandwich-type knitwear, which consists of two layers.
For lining, you can use either lining fabric, fleece or footer.
The consumption of the “top” fabric with a width of 150 cm will be 130 – 230 cm. But please note that the declared width may be less due to the fact that the fabric is not quilted close to the edges and/or has become slightly narrower during the quilting process.
The lining consumption is 145 – 230 cm, also with a width of 150 cm.
In addition to fabric, you will need an elastic band and cord.

How to cut warm women's trousers from quilted fabric using a ready-made pattern
The fabric is folded in half, as in normal cutting (picture 2). But, if this is inconvenient, then you can cut it and spread it in one layer.
Cutting the lining layer is no different.
Seam allowances are 1 cm. Exceptions: waist cut - do not add at the waist; at the bottom 4 - 6 cm.
The belt is a strip 10–12 cm wide. This is based on:
Two finished widths + 2 cm.
Belt length = trouser waist length + 2 cm
After cutting, we make cuts at the knee level and at the entrance to the pocket.
Do you need a valance?
If the lining is the same color as the top, then beginners can do without it. If the pocket has a secret zipper, you can also get by. A raincoat valance may not be very pocket friendly. But, if you need it, then you should cut out two rectangles 19 by 5 cm.
View layouts for different sizes of trousers of similar design using an example trouser patterns with elastic Fig 2 - 4.
The lining is cut out in exactly the same way as the “top”, only instead of a belt we cut out burlap pockets.
How to sew
- Collect "top".
- Assemble the lining.
- Sew a belt.
- Connect.
- Fold the bottom.
Now that the general processing sequence is clear, let's consider pocket processing (picture 3):
- If a valance is provided, stitch it onto the burlap in the area where the pocket enters.
- If a zipper is provided, sew it along the entrance to the pocket and connect the flange to the PP.
- Sew the pocket entrance areas: the barrel with burlap and the PP with burlap (Fig. 3) from notch to notch.
- Sew the burlap along the edge.
- Sew the burlap at the waist.
