This model can be sewn from most fabrics of the dress range.

Both stable fabrics and fabrics with low or medium stretch are suitable.

The ability to sew dresses with long and short sleeves according to this pattern allows you to choose the material, both among light and among warm fabrics.

A good solution would be denim with elastane, and dress stretch.

6. How to cut a dress with a kimono sleeve according to a finished pattern

Seam allowances 1 cm (pictures 3 и 4). Exceptions are neck and bottom. Allowances are not added to the cuts of the neck, and along the bottom - 2 - 2,5 cm. As an exception, it is worth adding an allowance along the edge of the side of the flying part - 2 - 2,5 cm.

Neck and sprout facings (picture 2) are cut out, as usual, from dublerin without allowances for seams according to the patterns of the shelf and back.

After gluing blanks from dublerin to the fabric, allowances are added for the cuts of the connection of the facing parts.

This approach allows not only to reduce the amount of work, but also makes it possible to cut out facings from any number of parts with a small amount of fabric.

For example, on 2 drawing shows a piping combined along the shoulder seam and a “drop” piping for a dress without a middle seam.

Using the same method of cutting facings, they can be cut out according to the product if the neck has been corrected during the fitting.

To process the lightning from the dublerin, a strip is cut out (picture 2), which will be 4-5 cm longer than the zipper, one end of the strip will be rounded. The width of the strip is 5 - 6 cm. No seam allowances are required. It, like the facings, should be glued to the fabric later.

Now let's talk directly about cutting (figures 3 и 4).

Since the details of the shelf are asymmetric and there is only one pocket, you need to cut the shelf in a turn, that is, spread the fabric in one layer.

To avoid confusion, we lay out the patterns of asymmetric parts on the front side of the fabric with the inscriptions up.

Symmetrical details (back, sleeves, facings) can be cut out by folding the fabric in half or circling the pattern twice - first laying the pattern with the inscriptions up, then with the inscriptions down.

Consider carefully picture 3. It shows an approximate layout of patterns on fabric with a width of 140 - 150 cm. Paired parts are cut out sequentially - the pattern is laid with inscriptions up and then, with inscriptions down.

Notches are made along the waist line on the side and middle seam of the back (picture 3), as well as on the side seams of the bodice of the shelf.

The position of the zipper on the shelf is also marked.

7. How to sew a dress with a kimono sleeve with a zipper with your own hands

1. Processing a decorative zipper on a shelf. The facing blank for processing the zipper is marked, under the zipper, in the same way as the shelf and is superimposed on the shelf face to face. A line is executed according to the markup. The space inside the stitch outline is cut lengthwise and the cut goes into the corners at the bottom. The facing is turned inside out, swept out and ironed. A zipper is placed under it and secured with a finishing line.
2. Pocket processing. The lower part of the shelf is cut at the entrance to the pocket, a zipper is sewn to the cut. A burlap-turning is sewn along the entry line. Then, the pocket is “covered” with a valance burlap and bartacks are performed.
3. Process the side and bottom on the flying part of the shelf into a hem with an open cut - overcast and fold it once.
4. Connect the lower parts of the shelf, and then the skirt and bodice.
5. Shoulder seams, sleeve, side seams.
6. Turning and turning the neck.
7. Bottom.
