Before cutting, we check the length of the sleeves and skirt, and if necessary, adjust immediately.

Seam allowances are mostly 1 cm.

Now the exceptions. We add 3–4 cm at the waist of the bodice to ensure high-quality fitting, but do not add at the waist of the skirt. Along the raglan line - 0,5–0 cm, and along the bottom 7–2,5 cm.

The allowance for the upper cut of the rack depends on how you are going to process it. If it is a binding, then 0,5 cm is enough, if in a hem - 2 cm.

For burlap, allowances may or may not be added. It depends on how large your customer’s hands are and what your wishes for the product are.

Sample layouts are shown in figure 2. As you can see, ZP saves quite a bit of fabric.

Now about the belt. This is a rectangular strip of fabric in the following sizes:

Belt width in cutting = 2 widths in finished form + 2 cm.

Belt length in cutting = Waist circumference + 10 cm for seams and transition part.

When the cutting is done, we need to make notches that will limit the folds and darts along the waist sections.

We mark the fold lines at the top to the marks (5–7 cm down from the waist at least).

Don’t forget to also mark the half-skid on the bodice of the front on the PP skirt - this will also require notches along the waist sections.

In addition, we need notches to process pockets in the side seam. Therefore, we fold all 4 side cuts of the skirt together, step back 10–12 cm from the waist and make the first notch. We apply burlap and make a second notch along it.

How to sew a raglan dress with a stand and a seam at the waist

Let's look at the simplest sewing sequence.

1. Assembling the bodice. Let's iron. We sew a zipper along the middle seam.
2. Assembling the sleeve. Let's iron.
3. We sew in the sleeve, evenly distributing the cut of the sleeve along the armhole of the front.
4. Assembling the skirt: sweep the folds up to the marks, iron them at the top; we process the pockets, sew down the side seams, iron; The middle seam is partially sewn down, partially left under the zipper and ironed.
5. Trying on: try on the bodice to outline the waist, tying the figure with an elastic band; cut off the excess; We baste the skirt and try it on again.
6. We process the waist cut.
