Pants length adjustment

1. Before opening the trousers of this model, it is very important to determine their final length.
2. Adjust the length of the pattern in the knee area if necessary.
3. The correction area is highlighted on the patterns by hatching.
4. If you need to be shorter, lay the fold on the patterns and pin it off.
5. If you want pants longer, you will have to cut at the knee level and glue a strip of paper. But only girls with a height of 170 cm and above will need to lengthen the pattern.

Perhaps, determining the length is the most difficult stage in working on trousers of this style.
Since the belt is supposed to be elasticated and the clasp is not necessary, these details do not require serious cutting and sewing skills.

Pants with elastic? With a hidden zipper or with a clasp?

1. If you have sewing experience, you can make a trouser-type closure or a hidden zipper in the side seam, and with an elastic band, process only a part of the belt in the RF area.
2. In the pattern of these boho trousers, two soft folds on the PP are marked for you.
3. If the trousers are sewn with an elastic band and without a fastener, soft folds on the PP should be ignored and the waist line should be drawn out smoothly, without “houses”.

Seam allowances

Having decided on the sewing option, proceed to the seam allowances (picture 2).

On the side, step, bow (if there is no fastener or it is a hidden zipper in the side seam) and the seat - 1 - 1,2 cm.

We do not add an allowance for the waist cut.

To process the bottom into a hem with a closed cut (fold twice) - 2 cm.

For a trouser clasp - a protrusion along the bow 3 - 3,5 cm.

The margin along the seam of the seat - up to 4 cm is added at will.

How to cut trousers and a belt step by step

1. Next, the fabric is folded in half face to face, the edges are aligned and parallel to the edge of the cutting table.
2. Patterns are stacked taking into account the shared direction. Shared PP and RFP should be parallel to the ironing line. We will not iron anything, this line is constructive and we need it only for a simple determination of the share direction.
3. Burlap, if you plan pockets in the side seams, you will need 4 pieces.
4. Belt - strips of fabric.
5. Width of the belt in cutting = 2 widths of the belt in finished form + 2 cm.
6. The length of the belt in the cut = the sum of the lengths of the waist sections of the PP and ZP + 2 cm.
7. The layout of the patterns on the fabric is shown in 2 drawing - on the left are small sizes, on the right - cut these trousers for full large sizes.

How to sew these trousers after cutting for beginners step by step

1. Consider the simplest option with pockets in the side seams and elastic band.
2. Let's start by stitching the burlap pockets. When performing this operation, it is very important that all 4 pieces of burlap are sewn to the side cuts at the same distance from the waist cut. At the same time, it is desirable that the upper cut of the burlap coincides with the cut of the waist, so that at the end of sewing we can attach the burlap to the belt.
3. So, we sew the details of the burlap to the side cuts, and after stitching, we make notches on the side seams directly above and below the burlap, we overcast the cuts of the stitching of the burlap between the notches and iron them.
4. We grind the tucks on the PP and ZP, cut and overcast the sections and be sure to carefully iron them.
5. Then we grind the side and step seams. The stitching of the side seams runs along the edge of the burlap. Overcast and iron the seams as usual.
6. We grind the seam of the seat bow slightly stretching so that the thread does not burst in the sock. We overcast the seam and iron it.
7. We grind the belt blank into a “ring”, having previously measured the length of the waist cut of the trousers. When grinding, we leave a gap in the seam for pulling the elastic bands, iron the stitching seam and iron the workpiece in half lengthwise.
8. We cut off the belt with trousers, combining the seam in which we left the hole for the elastic bands with the seam of the seat. The middle of the belt - with a bow and distribute it evenly, chopping off in several more places.
9. After that, we stitch the belt and overcast the stitching seam, fasten the burlap - just a bartack at one point is enough.
10. It remains only to screw in the elastic and process the bottom.
