The choice of fabric is limited by its thickness and softness.

The fabric should be thin enough and soft enough to make beautiful draperies of the flyaway shelf and the ties should not be rough.

Natural staple or cambric is ideal. You can also use very fine linen or fine muslin, preferably one layer.

6. How to cut a dress with a kimono sleeve and a detachable shelf with ties according to the finished pattern

There are no difficulties here, but there are differences, since there is an asymmetric detail (picture 2).

Cutting should be done on a single layer of fabric. To avoid confusion, it is better to do it on the front side.

Most of the seam allowances are 1 cm. Exceptions are the neckline, piping and hem (without seam allowances), as well as the bottom of the dress (3 - 4 cm). On the bottom of the sleeve, you also do not need to add - everything has already been added there.

Another tip to avoid confusion with symmetrical parts is that they are cut out twice and the second time you can cut out already cut out parts. But, if you use patterns, then once they are laid on the fabric with the inscriptions up, the other - with the inscriptions on the fabric.

For convenience and reducing processing time, the pick-up part can be combined with a fly-off shelf.

The share for the take-off shelf is not too important, therefore, we simply place the share along the part. But, if the fabric is striped, the lobar can run parallel to the side cut.

After cutting, do not forget to put notches at the waist so as not to warp the product when sewing the side seams.

You will also need notches for the pocket in the side seams - the top one is 7-10 cm down from the waist, the bottom one is placed according to the pocket template.

Notches are also needed along the hem lines of the sleeves and for soft folds on the fly-off shelf. It also needs notches, along the selection line.

7. How to sew a loose kimono dress with two shelves with ties

1. First you need to process the ties.
2. Then, process the fly-away shelf - pick-up, bottom, sweep out the folds, sew on the tie.
3. Sew the second tie to the left side seam of the shelf above the waistline so that the bottom edge of the tie is in contact with the waistline.
4. Finish the middle seam of the back with a double or sewing seam.
5. Overstitch the neck and sprout (back neck).
6. Put the fly-off shelf on the (symmetrical) shelf and connect along the neck (“get close” from the side of the band), along the shoulder cut, along the line of the bottom of the sleeve and along the side seam.
7. Process the shoulder seams, stitch, overcast and iron. Pin the end of the seam.
8. Sew burlap along the notches if pockets are provided in the side seam. Sweep.
9. Perform a double hem of the sleeve along the notches - iron, fasten.
10. Process the side seams - stitch, overcast and iron.
11. Bottom - in the hem with a closed cut - double hem.
