Description of the design of oversized jumpsuit-shirt patterns in boho style

This is a simple boho style. The laconic “straight bodice” in the large size set comes with a side bust dart. Small sizes - no darts.

Simple patterns for oversized summer boho overalls-shirts photo 2The shoulder is widened and slightly lowered. The sleeve is non-stop, that is, the hem is evenly distributed across the armhole.

It is not necessary to use a bead - it can be replaced with a strip, but this will complicate processing.

If desired, you can also cut the jumpsuit with a cut at the waist. This approach makes it possible to cut out a bodice without a fastener and/or connect the burlap pockets in the side seam with the waist seam.

A cut-off back will make it possible to cut out the back without a middle seam.

In a word, before cutting, you should carefully consider the variation of the style.

What to make a boho jumpsuit-shirt from

For a clearly defined boho style, a small number of fabrics are ideal, and the most suitable of them can be considered muslin and linen.

Of course, in addition to this, chintz and staple are suitable.

Any thin soft fabric is suitable for sewing this model, but whether it matches the boho style is up to you to decide.

Fabric consumption for a width of 150 cm and a trouser length of 100 cm will be from 230 to 360 cm.

How to cut overalls-shirt using a ready-made pattern

How to cut a boho overalls-shirt using a ready-made pattern, Fig. 2The only thing worth emphasizing is that it is better to cut out the selection in one piece (Fig. 2 и 3).

For all sizes the layout is “jack” type, but for small sizes we fold the fabric in half lengthwise (Fig. 2), and for large ones - across.

There are no other features or differences.

Seam allowances are 1 cm. Exceptions: we do not add allowances for the neckline, armhole and hem; along the bottom 2,5–6 cm, depending on the method of processing the bottom you choose.

The cuff is a strip 8–10 cm wide.

This is based on:

Two finished widths + 2 cm.

Cuff length = wrist circumference + 6 cm

After cutting, we fold the parts, connecting all 4 side cuts and make notches at the level of the waist, knee and at the entrance to the pocket (which is in the side seam), attaching burlap. If the product is cut-off, then the pocket will be attached to the waist; if it is not cut-off, step back 5–7 cm from the waist.

Allowances for pockets are 1 cm, and along the entry line 2,5–4 cm, depending on the method of processing the entrance to the pocket. For the valve - 1 cm, and along the stitching line 2–2,5 cm.

Sleeve vent - cut length 10–12 cm. Let me remind you that the cut for the vent is 1/4 from the back cut of the sleeve.

How to cut a boho overalls-shirt using a ready-made pattern, Fig. 3After cutting, do not forget to mark the half-skid (middle line) of the shelf and note that below the waist this line goes to the lower point of the side.

How to sew overalls-shirt - the simplest sequence

  1. Edge or overcast the one-piece hem and the PP crotch seam. Iron the hem. Is it worth duplicating? If the dublerin is very thin, then it is possible.
  2. Finish the pockets on the front and stitch the burlap to the side seam.
  3. Finish shoulder and side seams and side pockets.
  4. Finish the step seams.
  5. Process the bow - the area that starts below the hem, moving to the seat and the middle seam of the back.
  6. Clasp. We process the fragment from the point of the end of the fastener to the stitched fragment of the bow seam, overlapping and stitching. We perform horizontal fastening.
  7. Process the sleeves.
  8. Sew in the sleeves, connecting the highest point of the piping to the shoulder seam and distributing the piping evenly along the armhole.
  9. Finish the collar.
  10. Stitch the collar.
  11. Loops, buttons.
