This video tutorial for beginners shows in detail the cutting of a dress with a skirt "sun" and a bodice "boot".

I printed out the patterns, connected all the sheets into one, chose the size I needed and the length of the sleeve I needed.

There are two options for cutting this style - with and without a side seam.

I choose side seam because I want to make a zipper in the side seam.

The fabric I have is cotton with some synthetic additives and with a printed pattern.

As with all dresses with a "sun" skirt, we start cutting this model with a skirt.

Half of my "sun" does not fit half the width of the fabric, so I will cut it in a spread.

I lay out the fabric in one layer on the cutting table with the wrong side up.

The edge is parallel to the edge of the table.

I measure the length of the skirt along the edge and apply the pattern of the notch of my “sun” to the mark.

I press it with weights, circle it and again measure the length of the skirt.

Then I set aside the length of the skirt around the perimeter of the notch. Notch - cut out.

Then I cut out a part of the skirt along the bottom and fold it, combining the cuts of the notch. I continue in the same spirit until this half of the skirt is completely cut out.

I lay the finished floor of the “sun” on the fabric from the side of the other edge and cut it out.

The problem is that I am missing a small fragment of the “sun”, but I will make an addition, which I will cover with a contrasting trim.

I straighten the cut of the stitch and cut the edges at an angle so that they do not tighten the seams

Open the bodice.

I lay the shelf on the fold of the fabric, the back - to the edges. I cut it out with the necessary allowances: along the side and upper cuts 1 - 1,5 cm, along the bottom of the bodice - 4 cm, and I do not add an allowance along the armhole.

I place the sleeve pattern on the oblique. Allowances - 1 cm.

It remains only to cut the attachment. I cut out a slanting strip for her. When I sew, I will simply adjust the bottom of the skirt.
