3. Description of the design of the dress pattern - shirt - suit

Ready-made patterns for a dress, shirt, jacket, skirt in military style photo 3This set of patterns can be used to sew a jacket, skirt and dress.

The silhouette of the jacket is semi-adjacent, the shoulder is lowered.

The sleeve hem is lowered and the sleeve tuck coincides with the slot.

The jacket, also known as the bodice for the dress, has coquettes and semi-reliefs. The semi-relief of the back is straight, so it can be designed as a fold with a line (see the photo).

Collars - two classic shirts and one turn-down under the fastener to the top.

Flap pockets.

The skirt is straight with a smell.

4. From what to sew a dress - a shirt or a dress - a suit in military style

Ready-made patterns for a dress, shirt, jacket, skirt in military style photo 4The best solution is not too heavy denim without elastane.

Suit fabric and dress wool are also suitable.

If you choose among shirt fabrics, then preference should be given to denser ones, even for summer.

Linen and gabardine can also be considered a good choice.

Fabric consumption per costume will be from 230 to 300 cm with a width of 140 cm, depending on the size. And for a dress from 210 to 280 cm. The consumption is calculated for a long sleeve.

5. How to cut a dress - a shirt and a dress - a suit in one pattern

How to cut a dress - a shirt, a jacket and a skirt according to ready-made patterns pic 2As usual, you need to clearly define what product you want to receive - a suit (cut the suit in figure 2) or dress (cut dresses in figure 3) and measure the length of the patterns.

Please note that the details of the PP skirt are asymmetrical and we cut them in a turn, spreading the fabric in one layer. Therefore, cutting will require an additional step.

To cut the dress, we use the same patterns, but cut off the peplum from the jacket along the waist line.

The waist line of the skirt for the dress should be cut straight - these lines are signed in the drawing. The waist for a skirt with a belt is signed with a size number.

What else do you need to know about skirt pattern?

The darts on the skirt are marked for the dress, that is, the skirt is quite loose. Therefore, for the version of the skirt under the belt, you may have to add an additional tuck or increase the gap of the existing tucks.

Now let's figure out how to cut a selection for a jacket or for a dress bodice.

The simplest and “cleanest” option in processing is to make the yoke of the shelf double (drawings 2 и 3), and to the middle part of the shelf add a one-piece selection - a strip of 4 - 5 cm.

Pick-ups for a skirt, cut out a little differently.

For the right (upper) PP skirt, we cut out the pick-up according to the same pattern as the right PP. We cut out the selection immediately from the dublerin without allowances for the seams, putting a pattern on the dublerin (on its non-adhesive side) with the inscriptions up, in order to stick it on the fabric later. The width of the skirt for the skirt is 5 - 7 cm.

How to cut a dress - a shirt, a jacket and a skirt according to ready-made patterns pic 3For the left (lower) PP, the selection is a transverse or lobar doubler strip of the same width.

Seam allowances are standard - 1 cm. Exceptions are necklines, armholes, bottom, sleeve hem, flyaway sections of the bands and the upper (waist) section of the skirt. All these cuts go without allowances. Add 2,5 - 3 cm along the bottom.

You can start cutting both with paired and asymmetrical unpaired parts.

For convenience, we lay out the details of the skirt on the front side of the fabric with the inscriptions up.

It's importantIt is worth remembering that with individual tailoring, it is better to cut out the collar, cuffs and other small parts after the first fitting in order to match the length of the parts with the length of the neckline and bottom of the sleeve.

Once again about the collar: we choose the size according to the length of the neck, and not according to the number.

When you have finished cutting, do not forget to apply notches on the details of the cut along the waist, along the tucks, into the corner of “relief 2”, along the half-skid, the edge of the side and the highest point of the collar.

It is also necessary to mark the half-skid on the details of the right PP skirt and on the middle part of the shelf.

In addition, on both PPs of the skirt, the lines of the edges of the sides should be marked in order to correctly perform the smell of the skirt.

How to cut the waistband and cuffs

How to sew a dress - a shirt, a jacket and a skirt in military style, sewing sequence and photo 6The belt and cuffs are strips of fabric, the width of these strips in the cut is

Finished width + 2 cm

Cut-out cuff length = Wrist girth + 6 cm

The length of the belt of the skirt in the cut = Waist circumference + wrap + 10 cm (it is better to make it longer and cut off the excess on the fitting)

6. How to sew a dress - a shirt or a dress - a suit with your own hands

  1. We collect the fitting of a jacket or bodice and the fitting of a skirt. Please note that for the first fitting of the dress, the skirt is also needed separately from the bodice.
  2. For the first fitting of the jacket (bodice), we duplicate and iron the one-piece picks, grind, overcast and iron the semi-reliefs and the middle seam. At the same time, we sew the semi-relief of the back of the jacket along the relief line and down to the peplum, as noted in the drawing. We sweep the relief to the waist, laying the fold and directing it to the middle seam.
  3. The sleeve for the first fitting can also be swept and ironed.
  4. We prepare the skirt by processing the tucks, we sweep the details of the PP, putting the right one on the left in order to combine the lines of the edges of the sides and the half-skid; side seams and middle we sweep.
  5. The skirt, as a separate item, will require a larger fit, so when trying on you will need to add darts and adjust to the middle seam of the RFP.
  6. Sweep seams are slightly ironed.
  7. If a jacket or dress requires shoulder pads, then we attach them to the shoulder seams before trying them on temporarily.
  8. First sample. We try on a jacket or bodice and, if necessary, adjust the side seams.
  9. For the bodice of the dress, we outline the waist by tying the bodice with a linen elastic band.
  10. We put on the sleeve, aligning the highest point of the eyelet and the shoulder cut, we outline two additional points of pairing on the armhole and on the eyelet for ease of stitching. Checking the sleeve length.
  11. We choose a collar, choose the size of the pocket, applying patterns to the product.
  12. We try on the skirt, adjust it along the middle seam. For a skirt, as a separate product, we add darts, based on the features of the figure. For a skirt, as part of a dress, this is not necessary.
  13. We cut out small details - collar, cuffs, belt, battens, pockets and valves.
  14. We process the collar, valves and straps, prepare the belt for the skirt.
  15. Working on pockets.
  16. We process the slot on the sleeve or tuck, cut out the cuffs, based on the length of the lower cut of the sleeve.
  17. We continue processing the swept seams, but it is better to leave the middle seam of the skirt (if the skirt is a separate product) swept.
  18. We process the slot or tuck on the sleeve, and then the sleeve seam.
  19. Sweep sleeve and collar; we sew a zipper to the skirt, we process the belt of the skirt. Please note that the skirt belt is processed and consists of two halves, but the middle seam is not.
  20. The second fitting is an opportunity to make final adjustments. We carry out an exact fit of the skirt along the middle seam of the RFP.
  21. We sew a collar and sleeves.
  22. The bottom is in a hem with an open cut, that is, overcast and fold over once.
  23. Loops and buttons.
