How to cut this shirt dress with your own hands according to the finished pattern

Consider the option with the simplest processing of the sides and pockets in terms of complexity accessible to beginners.

The leaf pocket shown in the photo suggests sewing skills and is not recommended for sewing by beginner home couturiers.

To assess your capabilities and skills, try to make a pocket of a leaflet on a small piece of fabric, after looking in advance sewing video tutorial.

If a leaflet-type welt pocket can be replaced with a very simple pocket in the side seam, then it will no longer be possible to simplify the processing of the sprout and the bead - the simplest option is turning and picking (picture 2).

These details should be cut out using the patterns of the shelves and backs. You can cut them out immediately on a dublerin (adhesive interlining) or make copies of the patterns. The width of the selection and facing of the sprout (neck of the back) is approximately 5 - 7 cm.

We cut out facings without seam allowances.

Attention! To simplify the technological process and improve the accuracy of cutting, this model is cut out WITHOUT seam allowances. The exception is the whip. Allowances will be needed to cut it. The pattern of the strap is given as it should be in finished form.

The allowance for loose fit is large enough to ignore allowances.

Pg for small sizes – 7 cm, when tailoring dress patterns for full large sizes - 10 cm.

That is, the dress is very loose.

Open boho shirt dresses step by step

1. We fold the fabric in half face to face, combine the edges of the fabric and place them parallel to the edge of the cutting table.
2. We place patterns in the most economical way (picture 3).
3. To simplify the processing of the board, the patterns of the shelf and the selection can be combined (Figure 3 on the left), laying them end-to-end.
4. The burlap can be cut out arbitrarily, the strap too, but better along an oblique thread or in different share directions.
5. Both burlap and straps will need 4 parts each.

How to sew a dress shirt in boho style for beginners step by step

1. We make a strap and, if you have chosen “leaflet” pockets, then pockets.
2. We duplicate the facing and the bead, iron the one-piece bead, bending it along the line of the edge of the bead.
3. Stitch, overcast and iron the shoulder seams.
4. We attach the strap to the sleeve at the place of the mark and sew the sleeve without stitching.

6. Overcast and iron the stitching seam to the bottom of the sleeve.
7. We sew burlap if you are processing a pocket in the side seam.
8. To mark the place where the burlap is to be sewn, fold all four side cuts together and measure from the top of the side seam 30 - 35 cm, depending on height.
9. Put a notch at the obtained point of the side seams, attach the burlap to it with a cut of the pocket entrance and put the second notch immediately under the burlap. The length of the notches is 0,8 - 1 cm, that is, along the width of the stitching seam.
10. Stitch all four pieces of burlap, iron and overcast the stitching seams.
11. Stitch the side seams, going to the sleeve and to the burlap, after chipping them with pins or sweeping them.
12. Overcast and iron the side seams.
13. Stitch the bead and facing, iron the seams. Turn the neckline and, if the collar is not one-piece, then together with the collar.
14. Processing the bottom - into a hem with an open cut - overcast, iron and fold once. To perform a tie, it is easiest to use a narrow elastic band with a high coefficient of extensibility (easy to stretch) or a rubber thread.
15. To make a "drawstring" for an elastic band, overcast and iron the bottom of the product, lay 2 - 3 lines between the marks on the shelf through the bottom of the back. Screw in the elastic and try it on. It is important to make sure that the screed on the bottom does not interfere with walking.
16. Rubber thread can be sewn by winding it around the bobbin without pulling it tight. Or sew on a rubber thread using a zigzag stitch.
17. Process the bottom of the sleeve into a hem with a closed cut, that is, fold it twice without overcasting and lay a line.
18. Only loops and buttons remain.
19. Please note that it is desirable to sew a button on the sleeve over the stitched strap. This will prevent the sleeve from tearing.
20. The marking of the first loop is best done on the figure. Mark the loop at the level of the most protruding points of the chest. The rest are equally spaced.
