This is really a completely free pattern of a children's raglan coat in sizes 28 - 32 life size. PDF pattern format.
For downloading a pattern, you are NOT required to register or subscribe, you will not be put on the counter and will not be forced to buy patterns for women's clothing.
Just one request: read the instructions for printing and read the description, then you will definitely be able to sew a coat with your own hands.
The set of patterns for a children's coat with a hood includes (Fig. 1):
shelf,
raglan sleeve,
ordinary hood (if you sew a regular children's coat with a raglan sleeve without ears and tail),
hood with ears (the tuck in this hood is located in such a way that it is more convenient to attach the ears),
pattern of rabbit ears (or donkey, depending on the color of the drape),
and a pattern for the ears of a dog (or a bear cub).
The consumption of the "top" fabric will be 105 - 110 cm if you save the length of the product. This is with a width of 140 cm.
The consumption of lining fabric with the same width is about 60 cm.
It is, of course, desirable to sew a coat from drape, semi-drape (lightweight drape), tweed, “boucle”, fine cloth or not too thick ratin.
Of course, experienced tailors can use corduroy and velvet.
How to cut and sew a baby coat
For cutting, fold the fabric of the "top" in half face to face, the combined edges should be parallel to the edge of the cutting table (Fig. 2).
Please note that the backrest pattern is laid on the side of the edges with an indent of 10 cm for the opposite warehouse.
That is, there will be a warehouse and a middle seam hidden in it.
In such a seam, it will be easy to attach any ponytail.
Warehouse will reliably hide all processing flaws.
We lay the shelf to the fold, the sleeves and the hood - in an economic way.
The hood can be made double or single, but its double (wrong side of the hood) should be cut out in a different share direction.
Patterns of the ears and tail are laid out arbitrarily.
Seam allowances: on the bottom of the coat and sleeves - 3 - 3,5 cm; do not add along the neck; the rest - 1 cm.
The lining can be cut according to the same patterns, but the shelf will have to be cut for this purpose (Fig. 3).
The pattern of the shelf, as it is, is shown in Fig. 3a.
Bend the pick-up along the half-skid line - fig. 3b and cut off the folded edge along the edge. The result is shown in fig. 3c - a strip is cut off from the shelf, equal to the double width of the selection.
According to this modified pattern, we will cut the lining.
How to sew a sleeve with a lapel in a children's coat
The next change will affect only those who want to make a sleeve with a lapel, as in the photo.
For beginner tailors, I do not recommend sewing with complicating elements - put aside the folds for a while.
And experienced couturiers can lengthen the sleeve, as shown in fig. four.
The raglan sleeve pattern, as it is, is shown in fig. 4a.
It will first have to be cut into two halves - front and back, and then add 6 - 7 cm to the lapel (Fig. 4b).
To process the lapel, you will need facings.
We cut the patterns, stepping back from the bottom 4 cm - the lower part will be facing, and the upper lining.
Cutting the lining can be done very simply: fold the fabric in half, aligning the edges and laying all the patterns as you like.
And you can cut the lining economically. This is a bit more complicated (Fig. 5).
Economic cutting is performed in two stages.
First, the fabric is folded in half along the width of the front and back patterns, laid in a “jack” with allowances for the seams.
The edges are parallel to each other, but do not coincide.
Having cut out the shelf and back, the rest of the fabric must be folded in half across and the sleeve laid on it.
In this case, the allowances for the seams will be as follows: along the bottom 4 - 5 cm, we do not add along the neck, the rest - 1 cm.
