6. How to cut a men's polo shirt and how to cut a Hawaiian Swede according to a simple ready-made pattern

Start by choosing a size.
We choose not by number, but by the volume of the chest and abdomen. Measurements should be taken by placing the tape measure horizontally at the level of the widest point of the back and at the level of the most protruding point of the abdomen.

Let me remind you that we write down the measurements in half size, putting them on the patterns, do not forget that the increase in the chest (or stomach) should be at least 5-6 cm.

After choosing the size and thinking through the style, you can start cutting.

Consider, for example, cutting a polo shirt with a set-in placket (picture 2)

Since the shelf and back are solid, without sides and seams, we fold the fabric in half separately for the shelf and separately for the back.

Having cut out the shelf and back, fold the fabric in half again, this time the edges are aligned. The rest of the details are cut out as usual.

Please note that the yoke can be cut along an oblique thread (picture 2) or with a lobar in the midline (picture 3)

To save fabric, the sleeve can be cut in two pieces.

After cutting, do not forget to put notches along the middle lines of the sleeve, collar, back, yoke, as well as along the line of the edge of the side and half-skid.

7. How to sew a men's shirt, as well as an embroidered shirt with your own hands

Let me remind you that when sewing shirts, preference should be given linen seam

1. Process the sides (iron) or set-in bar
2. Process back darts.
3. Shoulder seams, then apply and topstitch the yoke, if provided. To stitch the yoke, you must first bend and iron its sections, and then combine the notches.
4. Stitch sleeve.
5. Side seams.
6. Collar.
7. Stitch the collar.
8. Sleeve bottom and shirt bottom.
