Sewing difficulty level: easy.

These models of clothes are easily sewn on an overlock knitted stitch and can be recommended to beginner tailors who have mastered the basic skills of sewing on an overlocker and a sewing machine.

Fabric for sewing, its consumption and a set of patterns

For sewing, it is desirable to use footer, fleece, velsoft, but other dense knitted fabrics are also suitable. Of course, for the "bomber" you can use jeans, bologna and various heaters such as padding polyester.

For more information on what to sew, see here ...

Fabric consumption, if you do not change the length of the product, will be from 130 to 150 cm, depending on the style option you have chosen.

How to cut and sew a "sweatshirt", "hoodie" and "bomber" with your own hands

Women's variant of a sweatshirt with a hoodHoodie got its name from English words hoodie и hood (hood).

Our names for such products are sweatshirt, sweater, jacket.

Bomber - bomber jacket, flight jacket A flight jacket designed for US Air Force pilots in 1955. Over time, it has become part of popular culture.Pattern set for a sweatshirt with a hood

It’s easy to cut a sweatshirt with a zipper: fold the fabric in half along the width of the front and back (picture 2), add an allowance on the bottom for a hem or for a drawstring 2-3 cm, as well as an allowance for a zipper, if you have one.

When cutting out the hood, we also add only an allowance for the hem or drawstring along the cut, which will be the face. The remaining sections are cut out for the stroke line.

But for the pocket, allowances will be needed, since we will adjust it.

We add 1,5 cm on each side, and at the entrance to the pocket 2 - 3 cm - this is for the hem.

Please note that the allowance at the entrance to the pocket expands. The expansion is easy to determine if you attach its template to the pocket stroke line on the other side of the pocket entry line.

When the back, front, pocket and hood are cut out, fold the rest of the fabric across and cut out the sleeve, adding an allowance for the hem.

"Sweatshirt" without a zipper is also easy to cut (picture 3), but the fabric should be folded differently.

You will have to cut out the details in three steps: fold the fabric again for the hood so that the edge moves, and for the sleeves, fold the fabric across.

Pattern do-it-yourself hoodies without a zipperCutting "bomber" is no different in principle (picture 4), but, of course, the "bomber" must be on the "lightning.

It can be completed with a hood.

For this, a hood for a deep (lowered) neck is better suited.

The collar and cuffs, if there is no special knitted “cuff” (dovyaz), are cut out from transverse strips of fabric, while the ends of the collar are arbitrarily rounded.

The sleeve is better to take a wide one.

On the bottom of the cuffs, you can not do it, but make the same “drawstring” as for shorts and thread ordinary linen elastic bands into it.

cuff photoConsistentDo-it-yourself bomber pattern with a zipperThe manufacturing process of the drawstring is as follows.

Overcast the bottom, bend it 6 - 8 cm and sweep it.

Mark the place on the shelf where the drawstrings end and lay 3 - 4 lines at a distance of 1,2 - 1,5 cm from each other, starting and ending with their reliable bartacks.

Pull the elastic bands and securely fasten their ends.

And finally, consider the "hoodie" with the "sly" hood (picture 5).

Fold the fabric as shown in the "bubble" under the picture, cut out the back and shelf. Please note: the cutout at the shelf under the hood is in the form of a "trapezoid" and an allowance of 1 cm is added along it.

DIY pattern hooded hoodieThen we fold the fabric for the hood, shifting the edges.

It will be double for us, so we can either, by attaching the pattern to the fold, refuse the seam framing the face, or add 1 cm to the seam.

We also add 1 cm along the lower cut of the hood and along the cut of the stitching into the sprout-neck.

Having cut out the hood, fold the fabric across and cut out the sleeves. The pocket is the last of the remnants of the fabric. Attention: in fig. 5 the pocket is shown in a turn, and if in a turn, then this is one detail.

The rest of the seam allowances are the same.
