How to cut a trapezoid dress with a frill according to patterns with your own hands

1. In this model, you can do without a zipper. The clasp is made in the middle seam of the back.
2. The neck in the model with a collar and in the model without a collar should be processed with facings.
3. In the variation with the collar, the piping will make the processing “clean” and reliable, but it is better to cut out the piping, like the collar itself, according to the product after trying it on. 4. In a variation without a collar - the facing will keep its shape well and will not allow the neck to deform. In this case, we cut out the facing according to the same pattern as the shelf and back. We cut out the facing from dublerin and DO NOT add seam allowances in these blanks. We will add to the seams after gluing to the fabric and only at the junction of the facing fragments.
5. For the main parts, the seam allowances are ordinary (figures 4 и 5) - 1 cm apart sprout (back neck), armholes and sleeves. On the bottom of the sleeve - depending on the method of processing. The allowance on the bottom of the shelf and back is not of great importance and you can not add it.
6. To cut a frill, you need to determine its length. To do this, the length of the shelf pattern is compared with the length of your favorite dress and the difference will be the length of the frill.
7. To the resulting length of the frill, add to the hem with an open or closed cut (single or double hem). It is 3 - 4 cm.

12. Pay attention to the fact that the gradation of collar sizes is given on the patterns, but the numbers are not written. We cut out the collar ACCORDING TO THE PRODUCT after trying it on, measuring the length of the neck.
13. When cutting out the collar, it is more convenient to resort to the same technique as when cutting the facings: cut it out of doubler without seam allowances, stick it on the fabric and, having added the necessary allowances, cut it out. This approach allows you to cut the collar very accurately.

How to sew such dresses step by step for beginners

1. We start sewing the dress by stitching the shoulder, side and middle seams of the back. We do not grind the last one to the end - we sweep the top 10 cm. We sew the sleeves right away. All cuts are overcast and carefully ironed.
