The seam allowances are as follows: along the upper sections of the back-shelf and sleeves - 4 cm for processing the drawstring under the elastic band, along the middle seam and along the bottom 1,5 - 2 cm.

The frill width is calculated taking into account processing allowances. That is, to the desired width in the finished form, you should add an allowance for the drawstring to insert an elastic band and an allowance for a double hem of the bottom, which is called the “hem with a closed cut”.

A soft reguiline is “inserted” into this double hem to make the frill stiffer. That is, the hem allowance depends on the width of the regiline, if you use it.

If you calculate roughly, then the width of the frill in the finished form should be about 20 - 25 cm. Add 5 - 6 cm to the wide double hem, and 4 cm to the drawstring. In total, about 30 - 35 cm is obtained.

How to sew dimensionless dresses for beginners step by step
