It is precisely by the incorrectly chosen method of sewing and the lack of wet-heat treatment that one can determine the lack of sewing skills.

When choosing a processing option, you should look at the fabric from which the dress is sewn, and then - at the style.
Based on the properties of the fabric and style, you should choose the method of bending the bottom.
In this video tutorial on sewing for beginners, we will look at some variations in the processing of the bottom with an open cut on the example of a jacquard sheath dress.
The considered method of sewing is called "in the hem with an open cut."

As you have already seen in the master class offered to you, the sections of the jacquard dress are edged, since the overlock seam on the jacquard still does not give the necessary “purity” and beauty of processing.
This is especially true for fabrics with a large pattern repeat and long broaches of threads.

After 
the cuts are swept over, it is necessary to outline the line to which the hemmed cut will be applied.
Attention! we are interested in the line of application in this case, the edged cut of the bottom. Not a fold at the bottom, but a cut.
To simplify the task, a cardboard template should be made according to the width of the double hem of the bottom.
We bend 3 cm, then the width of the template is 6 cm, if 3,5 means 7 cm.
Applying the template to the cut, mark a line parallel to it.
Then, we bend the bottom, applying the cut to the intended line of the bottom.
Beginning couturiers who do not have sufficient sewing experience should sweep the bottom, laying a basting line at a distance of 0,5-0,7 cm from the cut.
Experienced tailors can simply pin and/or iron it.
Such an indent from the edge is necessary for hemming the bottom by machine or by hand.
If you glue the bottom with a paper-based thermoplastic tape (colloquially known as “adhesive cobwebs”), the basting line should be at a distance from the edge equal to the width of this adhesive tape.
Hemming the bottom of the dress on a typewriter, you need to use a special foot and a special line in the sewing process.
The choice of stitches suitable for hemming the bottom of modern sewing machines is quite large. I have listed only those that are found in inexpensive cars.
In addition to the dress, the bottom processing methods shown in this video tutorial can be used when sewing straight skirts and dress pants from suit fabric.
Skirts made of thin fabrics and skirts of other styles can be hemmed in other ways.
For example, for shorts made of thin cotton fabric or Tatyanka skirts, a bottom with a closed cut is more suitable.
In this case, a hem attachment suitable for household sewing machines has been used.

1. Ready-made pattern of an A-line dress on a yoke with pleats and a sleeve for sizes from 40 to 64
The pattern of this dress has a trapezoidal semi-adjacent silhouette with a relief on the back and a semi-relief on the shelf. This design allows you to more accurately fit the silhouette shape, achieving an elegant freedom of fitting.
The dress can be sewn, both with soft folds on the shelves, and without them. An additional pattern of a shelf without folds will allow you to check the accuracy of the folds or sew a dress without them from a denser fabric.

2. Patterns of a straight dress and a bolero to it
Life-size dress sizes from 40 to 64, bolero from 40 to 52. The level of difficulty in sewing a dress is medium, and for a bolero it is high. You will need skills in cutting and sewing, as well as experience for trying on.
This style of dress is suitable for most types of figures, but the bolero will compliment only slender tall girls and women with a thin waist and narrow hips.

3. Pattern of a sheath dress with a fantasy sleeve for sizes from 40 to 64
Sewing difficulty level: medium, sewing skills are required, experience in sewing a sheath dress is useful.
For sewing, you can use most of the thin and dense fabrics of the dress assortment, with the exception of stretch with high stretch.
Dress wool can be considered the most suitable fabric, but jeans, jacquard (single-layer and not too loose), linen, thick silk or gabardine are also suitable.

4. Pattern of a straight dress sheath with a wrap in full size in sizes from 40 to 64
The shelf performs the smell, so the dress can also be called a dressing gown. If the main type of style is a "robe", then a strict business dress can be considered an additional one. To do this, the smell of a bathrobe can be replaced by its imitation - a one-sided fold. In a dress with a pleat, it is better to fasten the dress in the side seam.

5. Pattern of a dress combined with red for sizes from 40 to 64
This sheath dress is suitable for girls and women of any age and looks good on proportional figures of various fullness. Sewing difficulty level: medium. For the demi-season option, you can use woolen suit and dress fabrics. And dress wool with a small content of synthetics or artificial fibers can be considered an ideal option.
