In the same way, the facings can also be cut along the bodice of the dress, after trying on, clarifying the outlines of the neckline and armholes, and processing the shoulder seam.

In any case, when cutting out the facing, we outline a fragment of the backrest pattern and a fragment of the shelf pattern, as shown in Fig. 2. That is, we circle and cut out WITHOUT seam allowances from dublerin.

Now consider the seam allowances and the direction of the grain thread (picture 3) - it is at these moments that novice couturiers experience difficulties and make most mistakes.

So, the sprout (back neck), neck and armholes - cut out without seam allowance. Reliefs, side and middle seams - with an allowance of 1 - 1,5 cm, add 3 - 4 cm at the waist.

Pay attention to the fact that on the middle details of the back and shelves, the armhole smoothly turns into a relief line. Therefore, the armhole section is cut out without an allowance, and the relief section with an allowance of 1 - 1,5 cm.

They often ask why the sprout, neck, armhole without allowance. It's simple: these are concave lines and if you add an allowance to them, they will become much shorter.

A large waist allowance is needed for fitting, that is, for convenient determination of the waist level. When trying on, tie the bodice with a linen elastic and mark the connection line with the skirt. Since the figures are different for everyone, the position of the waist line in the product should be different for everyone.

The share thread in such bodices is located along the details, that is, strictly perpendicular to the waist line, therefore it is not marked on the drawings.

But the middle part of the shelf can also be cut in a different share direction. The share of this part can pass both along the upper segment of the middle seam, and along the lower or perpendicular to the waist.

Do not forget to also make a "house" allowance over the tuck.

The order of cutting a detachable dress with various skirts

Now about cutting a cut-off dress with a middle seam on a shelf with various skirts, as well as about calculating the consumption in each specific case.

Let's start by cutting a layered skirt (picture 4). We cut in two stages: bodice and skirts.

For the bodice, fold the fabric in half and lay out the details in the most economical way. Cut out with desired seam allowances.

For skirts from the “top” fabric, lay out the fabric in a turn and cut out short and long flounces along the “semi-sun” notch.

Then, according to the cut out details of the semi-sun from the “top” fabric, you can cut out the rest of the skirts, which are made of chiffon or organza, nylon “mesh” or other transparent fabric.

The fabric consumption of the “top” in this case is calculated as follows:

bodice length + 6 cm + 2 skirt length + neckline diameter

The consumption of transparent fabric also depends on the length and number of skirts. If you cut, as in the photo, then the calculation will be as follows:

If you need to cut a dress with one semi-solar skirt (picture 5), we calculate the flow rate according to the first formula and also cut it in two stages.
