After folding the fabric in half face to face and aligning the edges, do a rubbing: align one of the corners between the edges and the cuts of the fabric so that it becomes straight (picture 1).
Measure along the edges du maxi, and along the fold - du mini.
Connect them with a curved line, keeping right angles on the areas adjacent to the edges and the fold.
Below, place the patterns of the bodice of the desired size.
Do not forget that the seam allowances at the waist should be at least 3 cm! This will allow you not only to more accurately try on, but also save the product in case of shrinkage after washing.
I remind you that the shoulder-side sections will require an allowance of 1 cm, and the sprout and neck are cut out without an allowance, otherwise they will become shorter and add trouble to you when trying on.

How to cut a dress with two-striped skirts without a pattern
Now about dresses with two-striped skirts (Photo 2).
These models are suitable for home couturiers who have mastered the processing of the neck with piping and stitching the sleeves.
Skirts are quite simple to process and cut and are virtually identical to those discussed in my article. "How to cut fashionable skirts without patterns".
Therefore, we will dwell only on those nuances that you need to know if you want to cut a “two-strip” skirt of maximum length.
As you have already seen in photo 2, the models proposed on them have a train, which is very beautiful on the catwalk, but terrible.

For Du mini, you need to remember only that it must be complimentary to the figure of the customer.

It is impossible to remain silent about the fact that the “boat” goes well with the neckline on the back (figure 3b) - you can immediately cut out such a neckline, having previously closed the tuck at the waist, but it is wiser to do this without trying on and not close the tuck.
For this fitting, simply leave the middle seam loose and fold over the "excess" to make sure the cutout fits you.
It is better to process the cuffs on the sleeve as a tuning facing (picture 3).
That is, we cut out cuffs from dubbing without seam allowances, and then after gluing, we add allowances from all sides.
The upper allowance is ironed, and the bottom of the sleeve is processed, as with a regular facing, only it should be folded over to the “face”. At the end of processing, the seam allowance with an ironed edge should be stitched.
After that, you can complete the processing of the sleeve.

But their shape for a bodice with a boat neckline can be different, depending on the model (picture 4).
For a sleeveless dress, you can combine the facing of the armhole and neckline (figure 4a).
If there is also a figured cutout on the back, for example, in the shape of a heart, then it is also reasonable to make the facing one-piece (figure 4b), but in this case the sequence of processing the bodice will change.
For a dress with a sleeve, of course, we use facings of the usual form (figure 4c).
