The epaulet type shoulder pad is used in raglan, raglan shoulder strap, semi-raglan, shirt cut, as well as in products with one-piece sleeves.
For manufacturing, you will need a lining or main fabric (if it is thin enough) and a synthetic winterizer.

You can also use ready-made foam blanks. But the advantage of synthetic winterizers is obvious - they are softer and you can easily change their thickness by slightly ironing them.
To make an “epaulette”, you should cut out according to the pattern (download the “epaulette pattern”) two symmetrical parts from the lining fabric and two symmetrical parts from the padding polyester.
Process tucks on all details. Please note: on a synthetic winterizer, a tuck is just a cut, and for processing, the edges of the cut are superimposed on each other and swept with oblique stitches.
For products made of dense fabrics, the processed parts of the “epaulette” from synthetic winterizer can be filled with another layer of synthetic winterizer, “putting” it into the resulting “bowl”, and connecting the layers to each other.
Connect the blanks from the lining with already stitched tucks to the blanks from the padding polyester with basting stitches.
In this form, the "epaulette" can be used for fitting.
Then put on paper and circle.
Cut out the resulting oval and draw a tuck with a 1 cm solution, as shown in the figure.
Combine the tuck on the oval part with the tuck on the top part and stitch all the workpieces together, and then overcast.
It is very important that the seams and overcasting are not stretched and do not stick out.
The epaulette is usually attached to the product of the dress assortment NOT RIGIDLY, that is, with two thread racks 1 cm long at the points along the shoulder seam.
For lined outerwear, the shoulder pad does not need to be tightened. It is also made of sintepon or batting, and the “top” is made of a bead, while the tucks are not grinded, but cut and, after applying sections, they are fixed in any convenient way.
