"Sewn from wool on a knitted basis, size 42, fabric consumption 1,5 meters. Overlock stitch + straight stitch was used to process the cut of the front. The sleeves are processed into a hem. The cut of the bottom and hood shelves are processed with artificial leather trim."

"The jacket is made of denim with fur without lining. The sleeves and the undercut barrel are made of overcoat fabric. I edged all the sections with an oblique trim from thin jeans. Jeans took 1,4 m, overcoat 0,7 m., I cut out the inlay from a cut of 0,5 m. On the fitting, I corrected only the armhole and the hem of the sleeve, made the lowered shoulder a little less. The pattern is excellent, sat well on my size 60. I printed it on A4 format, I assembled the pattern easily. I am very pleased with the result!"

On the right in the photo, a tailored jacket from a customer Larisa Cherpak: "Size 46. The main fabric is raincoat with insulation, 2 m. I took natural fur for the lining (recut the fur coat) - I can’t say exactly the quantity. I didn’t make any changes to the pattern. Cut clearly according to pattern."

Description of the style of the jacket and a set of patterns for it

Sewing difficulty level: simple, but you will need an overlock with a “knitted” seam and a machine with an adjustable zigzag.

The pattern is suitable for beginner couturiers who have already sewn a couple of products from fur or velsoft and have mastered sewing knitted fabrics on an overlock.

This hoodie model is suitable for all types of figures of any height and age.

As already mentioned, the jacket is almost completely sewn on an overlock knitted stitch.

Fabric for sewing women's jackets and its consumption

Footer, velsoft, fleece and faux fur on a soft stretch basis are suitable for sewing this model. You can combine with knitwear imitating hand knitting.

The total consumption of fabric depends on the size of the product and the width of the fabric.

For example, if the width of the fabric is 180 - 200 cm (footer, velsoft, veselsoft-fur), then the consumption for different sizes will be from 180 to 200 cm.

The width of faux fur and fleece is within 140 - 160 cm. Consumption with such a width will be from 170 to 220 cm, also depending on the size of the product.

Due to this variation in width, it is recommended to lay out the patterns before buying fabric so as not to make a mistake with the width.

For combined products, the consumption of fur-velsoft with a width of 180-200 is determined by the length of the shelf about 110-115 cm.

For a combined faux fur product up to 160 cm wide, the consumption will be up to 2 meters.

The consumption of coarse knitwear is determined by the length of the sleeve - up to 65 cm.

When calculating the fabric, we always add an extra 3 - 5 cm to align the cut (basing), marriage and other unpleasant surprises.

Features of a do-it-yourself pattern for a women's jacket

When cutting this jacket, we add seam allowances only to the pocket cuts (pictures 2 и 3), since the allowance for a free fit on the chest is 10 cm. The seam allowance for processing the pocket is 0,7 - 1 cm, but no more. We add the same allowance to the side seam of the shelf. This is discussed in more detail below.

Before cutting, it is very important to check the length of the sleeve pattern with the desired length.

It is also desirable to compare the width of your favorite jacket with the pattern in order to choose the size of the volume you need.

We fold the footer in half inside out, fleece - on the contrary, face inward.

When cutting fur velsoft or faux fur, in most cases, cutting should be done without folding the fabric in half. The pile on all parts must lie in the same direction, even if the direction is not defined.

Now consider the sequence of sewing jackets.

We start with the processing of pockets. They need to be processed in parallel.

When cutting out the details of the pocket and the front, you added allowances to the cuts of the "burlap-valance", "burlap" and to the side cut of the shelf, which turns into a semi-relief and the entrance to the pocket.

Immediately after cutting, do not forget to make notches on the blanks of these parts, in the places that are shown on the patterns. Notch length - 0,5 - 0,7 cm.

Then, we grind the cut of the entrance to the pocket with burlap, laying a line in a narrow zigzag, combining the corresponding notches and stitching the burlap-valance, again combining the notches and side seams.

The concave section is dissected for its more convenient "reversing". It is desirable to overcast the cut visible from the wrong side.

Then comes a very important moment - the foundation of the shelf. In other words, the shelf template must be placed on the finished shelf and the distorted sections of the side seam should be trimmed so that the template and the part become congruent.

Further - everything is very simple, since the rest of the sewing operations are performed on the overlock with a knitted seam.

The shoulder sections are grinded, the sleeve is sewn in - it is non-stop, so it is not necessary to tuck it in.
