Features of a do-it-yourself pattern for a women's jacket for beginners

Since this jacket model has neither a collar nor a lapel fold line, cutting becomes available for home couturiers with minimal experience in cutting and sewing.

For cutting, the fabric is folded in half face to face, the edges are aligned and parallel to the edge of the cutting table.

Sheepskin coat should be cut like faux fur, that is, DO NOT fold in half, put scissors under the base without cutting off the fur. But also observe the shared direction.

Before cutting, you should compare the length of the patterns with the length you need.

Details are laid on the fabric, taking into account the shared direction (picture 2).

Pay attention also to the line of the half-skid - it corresponds to the middle line of the human body, that is, it passes through the jugular cavity and the navel. The half-skid must match the shared thread.

Seam allowances are added along the side and shoulder seams, along the “vertical” sections of the sleeve and along the line of the collar. 1 cm is enough.

There is no need to add allowances along the collar of the sleeve, the sprout (the neck of the back), the neck, the edge of the bead, the collar of the sleeve (the seam of stitching into the armhole) and along the burlap.

Finishing the cut, make notches on the side seams at waist level, at the midpoint of the sprout and at the midpoint of the collar. Notch length 0,3 cm.

The belt - a strip of fabric - is cut out from the remnants.

How to sew a simple women's jacket for beginners step by step

1. We start sewing the jacket by sewing and ironing the shoulder seams.
2. When sewing from neoprene and sheepskin coats, seam allowances can be fixed with an additional line by spreading them out.
   And, of course, you can’t iron a sheepskin coat in any case!
3. Then the sleeve is stitched. Since the sleeve of this model is non-stop, we sew it in without stitching.
4. Iron the sewn-in seam and / or secure with a stitch - topstitch.

6. When the sleeve is stitched in, the burlap should be sewn to the side seams. It is important to grind them on strictly at the same level. For guidance, use notches at waist level.
7. After stitching, the seams are ironed out (they are unstitched before reaching the edge of the seam 2 cm), then, the seam of attaching the burlap to the shelf is tightened or fixed with a line that does not reach the edge of the seam 2 cm.
8. The sleeve-side seams are ground down, moving to burlap.
9. And it remains only to sweep and stitch the collar.
10. The collar should be tucked in from the midpoint of the sprout to the end, and then from the other end to the middle.
11. It is important to observe exact symmetry and check that the collar is set in correctly. If the collar is set in correctly, it will not bulge.
12. Stitching the collar is the last operation.
