Description of the design of the women's quilted jacket:

This is a rather laconic style of a jacket cut off at the waist with a classic two-seam sleeve and semi-reliefs on the bodice.

3. What is the consumption of quilted fabric for this jacket

The name of the pattern already contains the optimal choice of fabric.

For the “top” we choose a ready-made quilted fabric, for the lining - a non-quilted lining.

The consumption of fabrics of the "top" and lining is the same - from 130 to 180 cm with a width of 150 cm.

When buying fabrics, pay attention to the actual width of the raincoat fabric. Sometimes it happens that after stitching the fabric "shrinks" and becomes narrower.

5. How to cut a quilted jacket according to a finished pattern

Simple patterns for a women's quilted jacket and how to cut rice 2The approach depends on the thickness of the quilted fabric.

If the fabric is thin enough, then fold it in half “face” outward, combining the edges (picture 2).

If the fabric is loose, cutting should be done by spreading the fabric in one layer "face" up.

See whichever is more convenient for you.

Seam allowances - 1 - 1,5 cm, with the exception of the neckline, sleeve hem and waist cut of the peplum. We do not add seam allowances to them.

Another exception is the waist cut of the bodice. We add 3-4 cm to it in order to be able to try on.

The lining is cut according to the details of the "top".

Both collars "upper" and "lower" are made of quilted fabric "top", burlap - from the lining.

If there is no zipper on the pockets, there should be a gap on the two parts of the burlap - a strip of fabric 5-6 cm, repeating the upper part of the burlap.

Do you need a zipper gap - decide for yourself. This is a strip of fabric along the length of the fastener.

It's importantPlease note that it is better to cut out the raven after trying on and processing the shoulder seams, based on the finished length of the neck of the product.

6. How to sew a quilted jacket at home

Consider the simplest option:

  1. Collect separately the bodice of the "top" and the bodice of the "lining". Baste the zipper to the bodice of the "top". "Put" one bodice on another to make it more convenient to try on. If shoulder pads are provided, connect them to the bodice with pins.
  2. Assemble the "top" sleeve and the "lining" sleeve separately. "Put" one on top of the other.
  3. Basque can be processed completely.
  4. Fitting. Try on the bodice (with shoulder pads), tie with a linen elastic, outline the waist. If necessary, outline the armhole according to the figure. Perform alignment with marks. Try on a bass. Put on the sleeve and outline three points of pairing of the sleeve and armhole to facilitate tucking in, outline the length of the sleeve.
  5. Connect the peplum and bodice. In place of the pocket - notches and "skip a seam". Perform also a "skip" of the seam on the lining at the waist - 30 - 40 cm, sweep the "skip" of the seam.
  6. Stitch pocket burlap to peplum and bodice. If a zipper is provided, then it should be between the burlap and the "top".
  7. Finish the collar.
  8. Baste in the sleeves, tie in the collar and carry out the second fitting.
  9. Stitch the collar.
  10. Attach lightning.
  11. Sew on the sleeves of the "top".
  12. Baste and sew in the sleeves of the lining through the passage of the seam along the waist of the lining.
