Features of a do-it-yourself jacket pattern in Chanel style

The cutting of this jacket has only one feature: the hem is cut out along the middle part of the front and is completely congruent with it. Otherwise, it is no different from cutting a coat with reliefs.

Particular attention, as in the cutting of a coat, is paid to the direction of the equity threads. For the details of the shelves and backs, the share is strictly perpendicular to the waist line. There are other guidelines for the middle parts of the back and shelf - the share should coincide with the middle line of the back and with the semi-skid (middle line) of the shelf. For the upper half of the sleeve, the share must pass through the protruding points of the front cut (picture 2).

Seam allowances - the same as when cutting the coat: necklines and armholes - without allowances, along the bottom 3,5 - 4; at the bottom of the sleeve - 3 cm; the remaining allowances are 1 or 1,5 cm.

As you can see, this option is the simplest - the selection is congruent to the middle part of the shelf. The allowances are the same - this will allow you to cleanly close the “insides” of the bead when sewing. For convenience, a detail is cut out from the dubbing that is congruent to the middle part of the shelf without allowances. The pattern of the middle part and this dubbing part are laid end-to-end when cutting, observing the shared direction, and seam allowances are added.

As for the facing, it can be cut according to the pattern of the middle part of the back with a width of 4 - 4,5 cm from dubbing without seam allowances (Fig. 2 in the bubble) or along the back itself after trying on.

The lower half of the sleeve, in order to save fabric, can be cut out of two parts, while cutting the pattern should be in its upper third so that the stitching is invisible.

Dubbing for an unlined jacket can only be done on the hem, stitching of the sprout (back neck) and along the bottom of the jacket and sleeve.

If you cut a jacket on a lining (picture 3), then the amount of duplicated area increases. But there are very interesting nuances here, which are usually neglected by novice couturiers. Let's dwell on them in more detail.

The dubbing of the back is performed approximately to the level of the shoulder blades and the bottom of the dubbing parts is cut with large teeth. This is so that a sharp transition from the front side of the product is not visible.

It is better to duplicate the side part of the shelf completely, since it is on this part that the pocket (or most of it) is located. It is important to cut out dubbing without seam allowances, that is, along the bottom allowance - a separate part glued at a distance of 0,5 cm from the dubbing of the shelf.

The dubbing of the middle part of the shelf also consists of fragments: a detail of the middle part of the shelf without seam allowances, a dubbing detail of the bottom allowance and a dubbing detail of a one-piece selection - we duplicate the entire selection or, excluding the hem area.

The facing and bottom of the sleeve are duplicated in the same way as in an unlined jacket.

How to cut the lining of a coat.

With individual tailoring, it is better to cut out the lining of jackets, coats and jackets according to the details of the “top”, and not according to patterns. Usually, masters do this after the first fitting, when the shelf and back are already processed. But you can also break the sequence by performing a layout from the individual parts of the "top". Allowances for the seams of the relief and the front seam of the sleeve must be superimposed on each other so as not to increase the size (picture 4).

Note the increased back allowance. This is done to process the tuck slot in the area of ​​​​the blades (picture 5). In this case, the back can be positioned with the middle seam to the fold of the fabric or to the edges. I placed the middle seam towards the edges to keep the lunge for the pockets intact.

Of course, there may be other layout options.

The direction of the shared thread in the sleeve in this case is not important, therefore, to save fabric, it can be cut across.

At the end of the cutting, the back sprout needs to be deepened, based on the size of the facing and seam allowances (picture 5). In practice, this is done like this: we impose a dubbing of the facing on the back outlined on the lining and rise from its lower cut by 2 cm, that is, a double allowance for the seams. Excess - cut off.

How to sew a women's jacket of this style with your own hands step by step

Once again, it must be said that without sewing skills, sewing such a product should not be taken. But experienced lovers can try their hand at sewing an unlined jacket.

The sewing sequence for a Chanel jacket without lining is as follows:

1. After cutting, glue the doubler, iron the pick-up, lightly iron the seams and perform the first fitting using the shoulder pads.
2. At the fitting, the armhole, neck, length and degree of fit are cut, and the location of the pockets is outlined (on one of the shelves)
3. After the first fitting, you should remove the mark from the shoulder and side sections, turn over the “vertical” sections, which will be open, that is, the shelf and back are processed, the WTO and pockets are performed.
