The free bodice pattern is suitable for sewing any dresses cut off at the waist.

There is a limitation in the choice of fabric:

The fabric should not wrinkle, therefore, it is advisable to choose among synthetic fabrics or with the addition of synthetics. The thickness of the fabric is medium.

Artificial linen (if it doesn’t wrinkle), dense rayon, heavy silk, dense jacquard, as well as dense stretch fabrics with low stretch are suitable.

The level of difficulty in sewing a dress with this bodice is high.

How to use this free cutaway bodice pattern

The processing of the bodice involves fixing the drapery on the lower bodice.

For summer dresses you can fix the drapery with a strip of fabric, 4-6 cm wide.

It is also possible to use the "drapery" detail separately. That is, the drapery can be applied to a ready-made bodice of any size and fixed on it. Or even processed as a removable part for a dress with a neck "under the neck".

To lay out the drapery, you will need a mannequin. Of course, you can lay out the drapery immediately on the figure, but this is more difficult.

The relief at the bottom of the shelf can be cut out like a tuck.

Fitted, zero-frim bodices can be worked with silicone bones or regilin.

After laying out and fixing the drapery, you should perform an exact fit of the bodice according to the figure and the standard fitting used for individual tailoring of cut-off dresses at the waist.

That is, cut the armhole according to the figure and measure the length of the bodice according to the figure.

For the middle seam of the drapery, 0,7 cm is enough. Along the shoulder cut of the shelf - no more than 0,7 cm, so that the allowance does not tighten the cut. The rest of the seam allowances are standard.
