Fabric consumption and what to sew
The expense for sewing a dress from a fabric of the same color will be, depending on the size, from 200
up to 220 cm. This is with a width of 140 -150 cm.
Consumption of "black" fabric - 120 -130 cm.
Consumption of "red" fabric - 100 - 120 cm.
A fairly dense elastic dress fabric is suitable for sewing. Please note that the fabric should be dense, but thin, so that the double shelf does not create unnecessary thickening.
Both dress wool and stretch with a little stretch are suitable.
You will also need a 50 cm lightning braid. And it is better to make the edging from “black” fabric.

How to cut this straight dress with your own hands according to the finished pattern
Before cutting the dress, it is necessary to clearly define not only the details of the style, but also the entire sequence of processing.
Let's start with the styling details. You can choose the option with or without a chest tuck. I must say right away that the tuck option is preferable for all women who have noticeable breasts, especially in combination with an inflexible figure.
The "stretch" version of the armhole was added solely at the request of the buyers, but the developer reserves the right not to recommend it for medium and large sizes.
In addition to the above advantages of a cut with a chest tuck, it is worth noting the ability to fasten the “blackth ”shelf with flying parts in the tuck area.
Please also note that the back can be made in one color or be combined. For a combined back, cut the pattern of the same name along the waistline (picture 2).
It is important thatIt should also be understood that the consumption of fabric for a combined or one-piece back will be the same for a "black" fabric and only 10-15 cm less for a "red" fabric.note
The easiest and most convenient processing of cuts for this style will be edging open cuts. This applies to both the cuts of the bow and the departure of the “red” parts of the shelf, and the neck with the bottom of the sleeve.
The cutting of the sheath dress of this model differs little from the cutting of the “classic sheath” (picture 3).
To facilitate the task of cutting parts from the "black" fabric, fold the cut in half lengthwise, combine the edges. We lay the skirt of the back or back to the edges, and the shelf - with a half-skid (middle line) on the fold of the fabric (figure 3a).
After cutting out the “black” parts, we unfold the shelf and mark the lines of the flying parts on the front side of the shelf.
Cutting the "red" parts is performed in two stages (figure 3b). We fold the fabric in half, combining the edges. First, cut out the back and sleeve. Then, turn the fabric right side up and cut out the flyaway parts of the shelf.
Now consider cutting dresses in one color (picture 4).
There are also two stages - first paired parts, then a turn of the fabric and flying off parts of the shelf.
How to sew a straight combo sheath dress with a bow step by step
- We start by edging the flyaway cut of the flyaway shelves and bow. We edging only those parts of the bow that are not included in the neck, for which all the necessary notches must first be made. We also edging the middle part of the bow on both sides.
- Carefully iron the edged sections.
- We continue with the processing of waist and chest tucks. At the same time, we process the chest tucks of the "red" and "black" shelves together.
- All tucks are carefully ironed.
- We fasten the detachable parts with a shelf at a distance of 1,5 - 2 cm from the cut with a temporary line, lay out the bow.
- We prepare the dress for fitting, like a regular case, and after trying on, we finish it like a regular case.
