Fabric consumption for sizes 44 - 46 will be from 3 meters, for sizes 54 - 56 consumption is at least 3,5 meters.

In both cases, the minimum or maximum flow depends on whether there will be a seam on two wedges or all wedges will be without a seam.

The level of complexity of sewing is professional, since the assembly and processing of a product with wedges will require you to have serious skills in cutting and sewing.

The difficulty level of sewing is professional, as the assembly and processing dresses with wedges will require you to have serious skills in cutting and sewing.

Cutting has its own characteristics. Pay attention to allowances (picture 2) - it is these allowances that will allow you to simplify the assembly of the product as much as possible.

How to sew this dress according to the pattern

Side view of embroidered dressesThe fabric is folded in half, all parts are laid out in the most economical way (picture 2).

For example, the layout is selected sizes 54 - 56 with wedges, four of which have a seam in the middle.

Let's consider in more detail seam allowances:

  1. At the bottom of the details of the bodice, add 1 - 1,5 cm from the corner down and "align" the detail by marking the corner.
  2. On the bottom of the wedges 1 - 2,5 cm as desired. We do not add along the armhole so as not to shorten the bend.
  3. On the neck - at will and depending on the processing - if there is a stitched frill (a strip of fabric ironed in half), then do not add, if you perform a double hem for the drawstring, then add 4 cm or more.
  4. The remaining allowances are 1 - 1,2 cm.

Dress Assembly Sequence

  1. Shelf, back, side seams, sleeve, stitch sleeve, sew wedges.
  2. The “medium” wedge can be placed in the middle to reduce the puffiness of the skirt a little in front, but the same “quarter circle” can be used.
  3. Wedges with a seam are conveniently placed on the side and back along the middle seam of the back, so that their seam becomes a continuation of the side and middle seams.
  4. Now about why the “leveling” allowance was left along the bottom of the shelf details.
When you have assembled the bodice, you can easily adjust the line of connection of the bodice with the wedges and the allowance will allow you to avoid possible errors due to inaccuracies in the assembly.
  5. The corners of the bodice can be re-marked, already based on the shape of the wedges.
  6. For ease of marking, you can make a triangular cardboard template along the middle part of the shelf.
  7. According to this template, make a corrective marking on the bodice and iron the upper part of the wedges according to the size of the marked corners.
  8. Then, stitch the wedges according to the markup, put notches on the wedges and connect the lower fragments of the seams.
  9. Overcast or edging the bottom of the “leveling” allowances, overcast or edge the open sections of the wedges and finish sewing the dress.
