(picture 1):
- Bodice patterns.
- Sleeve patterns.
- Notches for a skirt.
The bodice patterns are adapted to this style, in other words, when assembling the product, the side seams of the skirt and bodice will match. Of course, for this you need to cut out the details accurately.
For sewing, you can use dress fabrics such as "wool", jacquard, heavy silk. From knitted fabrics, dense and thin materials with a low coefficient of extensibility can be suitable. The use of printed fabrics is not recommended.

Features of a do-it-yourself pattern of a long floor-length dress made of checkered fabric
First, how aboutWe usually make paper patterns of the bodice, sleeves and recesses for the skirt according to patterns without seam allowances. If the fabric is in a cage, then it is advisable to turn the shelf (picture 2). The pattern of the back is made with the "middle line". The middle seam in this case will not work.
The fabric is folded in half across, that is, along the cut. Of course, it is desirable that the cells on both layers coincide.
Then it is necessary to determine a line on the tissue that divides the cells strictly diagonally in such a way that the halves of the report (halves of the cell) look symmetrical.
First, we lay the shelf on the fabric, combining the “diagonal” on the fabric and the semi-skid (the middle line of the shelf on the pattern). At the same time, it is important that the tops of the tucks also fall into the same places in the cells.
We circle the shelf or prick the pattern of the shelf.
Let's go to the back. It is easier with it - since it is only half of the back. To reduce consumption, lay out the back, taking into account the seam along the midline.
Floor-length sun skirt markings in this dress
The length of the skirt for this dress will be about 105 - 112 cm, depending on the height and heel height of the customer, so there is only a notch for the skirt in the pattern set.
(Thus, the expense for a maxi skirt alone will be four skirt lengths plus two notch widths and plus 5 cm for alignment and processing.)
A recess of the desired size is placed near the edges. From the notch, we measure Du along the side seams and along the midline of the skirt, which is located along the transverse thread of the fabric. Then we postpone Dee several more times between the side and middle lines. We draw a semicircle.
At the end, we lay out the sleeve, aligning its middle line, just like the semi-skid of the shelf with the “diagonal”.
We check the correctness of the layout.
Cut out one piece of the shelf. We check again the coincidence of the pattern for the back. If it does not match a little, then it makes sense to cut out one part of the back, raise one withlayer of fabric and lay the cut piece on the second, lower layer of fabric face to face, combining the pattern. The same with the sleeve. And for the halves of the skirt, it is important to combine the cells only on the side sections.
Cuffs - rectangles - the direction of the thread is preferably lobar or transverse. If the style requires cutting cuffs along the oblique, then special attention will have to be paid to dubbing - in no case should it stretch.
Seam allowances for dress cutting
Side-shoulder bodice and side skirts - 1 - 1,5 cm each; sprout, neckline, armhole and sleeve sections - beyond the line of the outline of the pattern; notch also for the stroke line towards the skirt; add up to 3 cm along the bottom of the bodice in order to be able to correct the level of the waist; on the bottom of the skirt the allowance will be 2 - 3 cm - this is enough for processing and leveling.
Note: many modern fabrics will not require you to align the skirt "sun", while others will give a lot of sagging along the "oblique thread". It should be borne in mind that in fabrics that sag along the oblique, the defect of “stretched seams” will be pronounced - this is the most common defect in factory products.
To minimize the deformation of the skirt as a result of sagging-contracting, cut off the details of the "sun" cut, without reducing the environment.from the waist, two wedges 2-3 cm wide at the bottom (picture 3).
