For tailoring, you can use only thin fabric from the silk range.

The set of patterns includes (picture 1)

4. Patterns of a long flared skirt to the floor - back half and front half.

A pattern of a sun-flared midi skirt is not included in the kit, since in this dress such a skirt is cut without a pattern. How to do this, read below.

The pattern of this elegant dress was made at the request and on the basis of photographs of the members of my VKontakte group.

According to this pattern, you can sew an elegant dress in two styles:

1. Long floor-length dress with flared skirt.
2. Midi dress with sun-flared skirt.

The consumption of fabric for a dress with one top bodice and a short skirt will be about 2 meters.

Therefore, it is strongly recommended that before buying a fabric, choose a style option, complete ALL patterns and pre-layout. Read about it below.

a). Features of cutting an elegant long floor-length dress with a flared skirt (layout on 2 drawing)

Let's start by considering the style of the dress shown in Photo 1 and from the answer to the question why the pattern of the “lower” bodice is needed.

Open the bottom bodice for a floor length dress

The "lower" bodice is necessary not only so that the folds of the bodice keep their shape well.

It will make the dress less transparent if you cut it from chiffon and will simplify the processing of the sprout, neck and cuts.

We cut the “lower” bodice with the usual allowances: side-shoulder, middle seams and a waist tuck - 1 cm; armholes, sprout, neck - for the stroke line; on the bottom - 3 cm.

Open the top bodice of an elegant dress to the floor

Women's patterns are very "ambiguous" and an example of this is the "upper" bodice.

We can cut it with or without an overlap, but, in any case, middle seams are undesirable.

The seam allowances are the same as for the "lower" bodice, but if you need an overlap, increase the bottom allowance to 6 cm.

I note that the lap is only suitable for girls with a boyish figure.

A woman with lush hips is visually weighted by an overlay.

The sleeve can be cut both along the shared and oblique threads, as shown in the layout of the patterns on 2 drawing.

We cut the skirt to the length we need, adding the missing length evenly along the bottom.

Allowances on the side - 1 cm, cut the waist section beyond the stroke line of the patterns.

So that the middle seam of the skirt does not tighten (it coincides with the edge), we cut off a couple of centimeters obliquely.

In conclusion, I will add that the skirt can be double.

But to save money, I advise you to sew one neutral, for example, flesh-colored petticoat from crepe chiffon according to the skirt patterns proposed in this set and wear it with several dresses.

I categorically do not like the belt - it visually increases the volume of the waist, so I propose two simple solutions: lace belt, satin belt on the bones.

And the hard decision belt-corset.

b). Do-it-yourself pattern of an elegant dress with a sun-flared skirt

The dress featured on Photo 2, has the same features of cutting and sewing - a double bodice and a double skirt.

The top bodice may have a slight wrap or cut like the bodice for the first model.

Before cutting, the sleeve pattern is cut along the middle line that you see on the drawing.

Add 1 cm along the cut line of the sleeve pattern if we process the seam into a hem.

And we don’t add it if we pipe it or process it with a seam with a rudder.

You will not need a pattern for a “sun” flared skirt, since it is easier to cut this skirt without a pattern.
