A cut-off dress pattern with two skirts is suitable not only for slender, but also for figures of medium fullness, as well as for girls whose figures combine two sizes.

To sew this dress, you will need the skills of knitting in a sleeve with an assembly along the collar, processing the collar and trying it on.

In addition, you will need to sew a zipper to the middle seam and process the bottom of the skirt with lace.

The expense for a dress can be from 1,7 m to 2,7 m, not counting the expense for the lower straight skirt.

Therefore, it is recommended that before buying fabric, determine the length of skirts and sleeves, as well as perform a preliminary layout of the patterns, taking into account the shared direction and allowances for seams.

To sew an underskirt, you will need one of its lengths plus a hem.

Features of a do-it-yourself pattern of a detachable dress with an overskirt sun

We start as usual by folding the fabric in half face inward (picture 2). The edges should be aligned and positioned parallel to the edge of the cutting table.

We lay out the patterns in the most economical way, starting with the pattern of the upper skirt, laying it on the fold of the fabric.

Please note that the sun skirt should be cut without seam allowances. Make a cut along the line of the middle seam at the back - you will need it for the zipper.

And, if there is a desire to make an assembly at the waist, choose the "sun" with a notch of the largest - the 62nd size.

Please note that the length of the sun skirt in this model is not tied to the size. That is, you can choose any length in the process of making a pattern, measuring it from the recess of the desired size.

When the skirt is cut out, lay out the patterns of the bodice and sleeves with the following seam allowances:

side, shoulder, relief, front and back seams of the sleeve - 1 cm;

sprout, neck, armholes and sleeves - without allowances for seams - otherwise they will become shorter than necessary;

middle seam - 1 - 3 cm - the cut of the waist should be perpendicular to the edges, then the shared direction will be observed, and the middle seam will turn out to be uneven, but it is better to cut off the excess after trying on;

the allowance for imitation of the fastener along the half-skid, that is, in the middle of the shelf - 3 cm from the fold of the fabric;

at the waist - from 3 cm - is needed in order to perform a fitting and will come in handy if the dress sits down after washing to lengthen the bodice.

How to sew a dress with a long sleeve and such a sun skirt step by step

Sewing is not very difficult for people with sewing skills:

1. We start with processing the imitation of the fastener: lay a line along the half-slide line and iron the resulting “warehouse” so that it looks like a tuning bar. Gathered lace can be placed under the edges of this “bar” before finishing stitches.
2. Then, we sweep the bodice, grind and overcast the cuts and perform the first fitting.
3. On the fitting, we specify the volume (we will adjust along the middle seam of the back), the lines of the armholes, if necessary, we also adjust.

5. And at the end of the fitting, having tied the waist with a thin linen elastic band, we outline the stitching line with the skirt. The very large waist allowance that we added when cutting the bodice will help us with this.
6. After trying on, we measure the length of the bodice at the waist and, if the cut of the waist of the skirt is longer than 5 cm, we assemble it manually or by machine.

Features of a do-it-yourself pattern of a dress with a half-sun top skirt

There are not many differences, but one at the very beginning (picture 3): the fabric is folded in half across, this is necessary to lay the half sun on the fold.

Of course, if you need ruffles, go for the largest pleated skirt.

And girls of medium fullness should choose a notch according to their size so as not to increase the hips and not visually weight the figure.

Of course, you can also choose any length of the top skirt, measuring it from the recess of the desired size.

Another difference will be that the shelf will not be on the fold (otherwise, you will have to fold the fabric in half again after cutting the half-sun skirt).

The allowance for imitation of the fastener will depend on the method of its processing chosen by you. You can simply stitch the shelves and cover the half-slip seam with lace and decorative buttons, or do without buttons.

Otherwise, cutting and sewing are practically the same as cutting and sewing a dress with an overskirt in the sun.

How to cut and sew a straight underskirt for such a long sleeve dress

If you cut a petticoat for this dress from stretch lace fabric, then it can be a rectangle, and if from a stable fabric, then you will have to make darts or at least lay folds at the waist instead of them.

Cut according to the pattern is very simple (picture 4). Fold the fabric in half and face inward along the width of the skirt pattern of the size you need. The edges should be parallel to each other and to the edge of the table. Get the hang of it (straighten one of the cuts) and, stepping back from it to the hem, lay the skirt pattern. The middle line of the PP (semi-skid) should fall on the fold of the fabric, and the middle seam of the RFP should be at the edge.

You can cut without tracing the pattern. Just press it with weights and make small “houses” above the tucks, as shown in fig. 4. Finally, make notches that limit the tucks.
