Elie Saab's asymmetric cut-off dress template kit includes (Fig. 1):

1. bodice patterns - shelf, right back, left back;
2. shuttlecock (instead of a sleeve);
3. patterns of PP (front half) of the skirt - left and right;
4. patterns of the RFP (back half) of the skirt - left and right;
5. flounce pattern (for a skirt).

Please note that this pattern can be used to sew a dress with a symmetrical bodice, as in the second photo. To do this, use an additional line of the neck of the shelf and a vertical half-slip. Back - right.

“Heavy” silk and dress woolen fabrics are suitable for sewing.

This style does not have paired parts (Fig. 1). Therefore, the biggest difficulty when sewing this style is not to turn over any detail.

The second difficulty is to perform the fitting.

The position of the lobar thread is normal. For a shelf and a PP skirt, the lobar is located parallel to the half-skid. For back details - perpendicular to the waist line. For a sleeve flounce, it coincides with the middle line, and for a large flounce, it should not coincide with straight cuts.

The processing of the upper cut of the bodice and the armhole can be done with a lining bodice or facings.

In any case, the details for processing are cut according to the details of the top or according to the patterns of the bodice.

On fig. 2 shows the cutting of the facings, which also does not differ from the usual. That is, we cut the patterns or their exact copies, as shown in Fig. 1, we sign the “front” side, turn the patterns over to the “inside out”, put doublerina on the “face” and cut it out without allowances for the seams, so that after gluing it on the fabric, cut it out with the necessary allowances.

We lay out the dress patterns and dubbing blanks on the fabric (Fig. 3). In this case, the fabric is laid out in one layer. For patterns, we observe the shared direction.

Do not forget to add an allowance of 3 - 4 cm along the bottom of the bodice to facilitate the process of trying on the bodice. Whereas we do not add an allowance along the waist cut of the skirt. We do not add allowances for the seams and along the bottom of the details of the skirt, as well as along the armhole, the upper cut of the bodice and along the cut of the flounces.

The sewing sequence does not differ from the sequence when sewing any cut-off dress.

The bodice and skirt (skirt) are assembled separately. Sample in progress. A waist is outlined on the bodice, corresponding to the height and position of the waist on a particular figure.

After processing the upper cut of the bodice and connecting the skirt with the frill, you can sweep the bodice and skirt and try on the dress a second time.
