Processing side and step cuts while sewing trousers

sewing trousers with your own hands side seams photo 1Sewing trousers with your own hands for beginner tailors is difficult even for such simple operations as processing side and step cuts.

It is worth noting that they need to be ground after the WTO and the processing of pockets on the PP and ZP.

A typical mistake is landing, in other words, a skew when sewing the PP and ZP trousers. A defect in the processing of side and step cuts can distort the ironing line, which in properly cut and well-tailored trousers should look at the toe of the shoe.

Tips for beginners on trimming trousers

In the process of processing sections with an overlock, the notch is partially cut off, but still remains visible.

When overcasting the side and step sections of the PP, you need to make sure that the burlap, which is below the entrance to the pocket, does not fall into the side seam.

When folding the PP and ZP for stitching, you should chop off the trousers near the waist, along the notch at the knee level and along the bottom.

Grinding is carried out necessarily according to the PP half. This is especially important for lined trousers. On one pants from top to bottom, on the other - from bottom to top. Seam width 1 cm.

When overcasting and grinding the side seams of the PP and RFP, do not forget to slow down at the place where the “cut-off barrel” pocket is fastened.

When the seams are stitched, iron the side and crotch seams. And then, iron each leg separately, combining the side and crotch seams.
