How to sew such simple women's trousers for beginners

Trousers, strongly tapered at the bottom, are back in fashion. But, familiar to the older generation, the model returned strongly updated.

A similar form was last at the peak of popularity in the 90s of the last century, it was called "banana".

The difference between the old and new models is that the “carrots” have only a small “filling” in the hips, and the “banana” not only in the hips, but also in the knee.

The range of fabrics also offers new solutions. If in the 90s a rather rough denim was used, today it is a dense, but rather thin stretch.

The "carrot" model is very easy to sew, since the main difficulty - the fastener - is processed in it, as in a regular skirt.

The figure shows the possible varieties of tailoring this model.

Rice. "a" - "b" - trousers with a traditional belt and a fastener on the side, fig. "c" - without a belt, the waist section is trimmed with undercut piping and pattern "d" - the waist is lowered and the section is trimmed with undercut piping.

The fabric consumption will be from 130 to 150 cm. To be more precise, you need to know how the waist section is processed.

Therefore, before buying fabric, you should make patterns and lay out, taking into account the width of the fabric.

One of the layout options is shown in the figure on the right.

When sewing trousers from stretch, it is more convenient to use a knitted seam (see the article "Machine seams" и "Pants Handling").

The only thing that ladies with a “complex figure” should pay attention to is the ability to try on by adjusting the fit of the product with two seams: a bow seam and a seat seam.

Therefore, a wide allowance is also added in the bow layout drawing.
