6. How to cut a raglan sweatshirt according to a finished pattern

There are few layout options in this case. Consider picture 2.

On the left - the layout of the details on the footer or fleece. In some cases, the barrel may be stowed next to the sleeve.

We do not add allowances for the seams (except for processing the zipper 1 - 1,5 cm), but before cutting, we must check the length of the product and the sleeve, given that up to 3 cm will go to the bottom hem.

Let me remind you that we measure the length of the raglan sleeve from the side point of the neck through the shoulder point and the bent elbow to the hand.

Cutting parts from ripstop fabric is shown in 2 drawing on right.

Allowances 1 - 1,2 cm are added where the part will be ironed. Pay attention to the overlay on the shoulder - the allowance is added only along the lower section, which will be folded over and then the part will be adjusted to the sleeve.

It is better to cut the collars after the raglan sections are processed and the length of the neck of the product is known.

We add seam allowances to the lower collar, that is, to the collar, which will be edging the flyaway section of the upper collar.

After cutting, do not forget to put the notches indicated in the drawings. In the middle of the cuts of the armhole and the bottom of the barrel, a notch of the lateral line is made. Focus on it, stitching the sleeve.

7. How to sew a tactical military raglan shirt at home

We start by setting up an overlock for a knitted seam (all links above).

1. We start with the processing of pockets. It is recommended for beginner home fashion designers to make pockets in the seam of the shelf relief at the level of the marked pocket. To do this, fold the Shelves and Barrels, aligning all four cuts of the relief and make notches for the pocket, as on burlap. On the details of the burlap, also make notches. Sew the Shelf, Barrel and Burlap pieces between the notches with a straight stitch or a narrow zigzag stitch, overcast if necessary. Stitch the reliefs of the shelf on the overlock with a knitted seam. Iron.
2. Make a pocket book on the sleeves (if provided): fold and stitch along the entrance to the pocket, iron, sew the zipper to the pocket, baste the pocket and stitch.
