6. How to cut a jumpsuit with a cape according to a finished pattern

Cutting is not difficult, but since the kit includes symmetrical and asymmetric parts, it is advisable to cut it in two stages (figures 2 и 3).

Consider cutting small sizes (picture 2).

First, we cut out the PP and ZP trousers, folding the fabric in half, aligning the edges.

And for the second stage, we spread the fabric in one layer and lay out the rest of the details in accordance with the shared direction.

For large sizes, the layouts look a little different (picture 3), but still, first we cut out the PP and RFP of the trousers.

For cutting PP and ZP, the fabric is folded twice along the width of the ZP (see the diagram in the bubble on 3 drawing).

Then, we cut out the details that can fit next to the cut out PP and RFP - a detachable part on the left PP of the trousers, details of the bodice and pockets.

Capes are cut out separately. If the fabric is truly double-sided, then the consumption will be reduced due to the fact that the parts can be turned over when laying out.

Seam allowances - standard 1 - 1,2 cm.

Exceptions: on the bottom of the bodice - 3 - 4 cm for fitting; on the bottom of the trousers 1,5 - 4 cm, depending on the method of processing the bottom of the trousers. On the waist cut of the trousers, the armhole and the cut of the connection of the bodice with the cape, allowances can not be added, as well as on the departure of the cape.

7. How to sew a do-it-yourself women's jumpsuit with a cape

Sewing even a simple item made of thin silk fabric is very difficult and requires skills in cutting and sewing such fabrics.

This jumpsuit also brings additional complexity, although the sewing sequence looks very simple.

When processing, it is recommended to use any kind of double seams, avoiding edge seams.

The processing of the departure of the cape is possible with a Moscow seam, an opikochny seam and a rolled seam (do not confuse it with a narrow edge seam).

Where to place lightning? In the left side seam.

1. Assemble the bodice. Shoulder cut can be finished immediately.
2. Process pockets, if any, after connecting the flyaway part to the left PP.
3. Collect trousers.
4. Collect the cape.
5. First sample. Try on the bodice - outline the waistline, clarify the shape of the armhole, try on the cape. Try on pants.
6. Connect the bodice with the cape, turning the cut of the connection with the cape, as if turning. Overstitch the armhole with bias tape cut from the same fabric.
7. Sweep the bodice and trousers at the waist.
8. Run a second sample.
9. Processing the bottom of the trousers and the departure of the cape.
