For lining, you can take both a dense lining fabric and fleece.

For windproof cuffs, you will need 20 - 25 cm.

You need 7 zippers, 2 of them are hidden for ventilation pockets.

Elastic bands for suspenders - 180 - 200 cm - this is with a small margin. Consumption depends on the presence or absence of adjusting fittings.

Linen elastic - about 100 - 150 cm.

Wilcro (Velcro braid) - about 100 to 140 cm, if to the maximum. Here, too, the expense depends on whether there are straps for additional adjustment of the belt.

6. How to cut ski trousers according to the finished pattern

The cutting itself is not difficult, since it practically does not differ from the cutting of ordinary trousers (figures 2 - 3).

We slightly increase the seam allowances - 1,2 - 1,5 cm. Exceptions: along the cut of the waist, the protrusion of the bow and the protrusion for processing the ventilation pocket, the allowances are 0,5 - 0,7 cm. On the bottom - 3 - 4 cm will be required for processing.

The belt, belt loops and straps are rectangles.

The width of the belt in the cut is 10 - 12 cm.

Length of the belt in the cut = Length of the cut of the waist of the PP and ZP trousers in the cut with allowances (measured according to the details of the cut) +3 cm

Pocket clearance: length = 20 cm, width = 8 cm.

Loops - cut if there are no suspenders.

Loop width - 3 - 3,5 cm (for sewing with subsequent eversion)

The length of the loops depends on their number, one loop is about 10 cm.

The width and length of the tabs to “cover” the velcro depends on the width of the velcro and the desired length of the tabs. Remember to add a 1,2 - 1,5 cm allowance on each side of the strap.

It is easier to cut the lining according to the details of the “top” cut (figures 2 - 3 on right). We cut out the detail for the ventilation pocket separately - the dimensions are indicated on the PP pattern.

You can add allowances to the details of the burlap, or you can not add them - as desired.

After cutting, we make notches at the level of the knee, notches along the lines of the tucks and along the middle lines of symmetrical parts.

We mark the entrance to the pocket on both parts of the burlap. If desired, the corners can be rounded.

We cut out the insulation along the details of the "top", adding an allowance of 1 - 1,5 cm "around" the part.

This is also a rectangle, the width of which is 20 - 25 cm, and the length is equal to the width of the lining below.

7. How to sew ski pants at home

The sewing sequence is as follows:

1. Process the darts in the knee area, apply and stitch the kneecap, after bending and ironing the open sections.
2. Connect the details of the "top" with the insulation - a line of 0,5 - 0,7 along the edge of the part. First, the “top” should be ironed, put on a heater and chopped off with pins.
3. Process pockets: turn a hole for a zipper; sew a zipper; fasten the loose sections of the zipper on the burlap with a stitch; sew the valance to the burlap so that the valance buries the pocket markings; sew burlap.
4. Process the ventilation pocket and stitch the seams of the step.
5. Adjust overlay.
6. Process a slot with a zipper along the side seams at the bottom; stitch the side seams of the "top" and the lining.
7. Overstitch the protrusion of the bow with a lining.
8. Process the seam of the seat - stitch the lining and the "top" separately.
9. Process the back.
10. Iron the belt, having previously duplicated the front part - before the start of the elastic band.
11. Sew the back to the belt.
12. Run stitches under the elastic band. Insert the elastic band, pull it off and secure with vertical bartacks.
13. Stitch if they are provided with velcro and straps to the belt.
14. Attach a belt.
15. Run cuffs for wind protection - on the bottom there is an elastic band or cuffs made of cuff fabric.
16. Stitch to cuff lining for wind protection.
17. Perform a bottom fold.
