So, I iron the blanks in half lengthwise, and glue the dubbing from the wrong side at the base of the bar.

I sew the ironed blanks with straight lines, starting and ending each of them with a bartack. The bindings are very important here. Of course, the lines must be strictly parallel to each other and the same length.

After stitching the plank blanks, be sure to check the parallelism and length of the lines, as well as the reliability of the bartacks. In principle, a quality check of sewing or ironing should be after each operation.

When the parallelism of the lines and the strength of the bartacks are checked, the bar can be cut and turned inside out. The left bar should be laid on top of the right one, as required for the male fastener. If the strap is on a women's blouse or dress, then the right one is on top.

In this position, the plank is ironed, and after that I perform a horizontal bartack, which will fasten both planks and the shelf below.

For ease of execution, you can chop off the straps with a tailor's pin or sweep them up.
