How to sew a school apron?

How to sew a school apron? 3

In order not to get confused, I will list the details of which the apron consists: apron (lower part of the apron), bib (upper part), belt, straps and frills (Fig. 1).

Let's start taking measurements (photo). It is better to take measurements for an apron over a school dress.

First, calculate the dimensions of the apron without seam allowances. Its length is equal to the length of the skirt minus 5 cm:

du minus 5

A widthHow to sew a school apron? 1and taking into account assemblies or warehouse - one and a half half-circumference of the waist:

If you are edging the details of the apron or finishing the edges with narrow lace, then you will not need seam allowances and processing. At the end of the article, processing with edging of slices without allowances will be considered.

The height of the bib can be chosen by eye, but if you use measurements, it is approximately equal to half the length of the shelf to the waist:

1/2 dpt

The width of the bib is less than the distance between the bulges of the chest by 4 cm (for high school students), for younger schoolgirls no more than 10 cm.

The length of the strap should have some margin. It will be needed for two operations: to choose the slope of the straps exactly according to the figure and, when the girl grows up, to lengthen them. The stock can be 8 - 10 cm.

So, the length of the strap is equal to the sum of three lengths - the length of the shelf to the waist plus the length of the back and stock:

Dpt + Ds + 8 cm

The frill is also a rectangle, more precisely a strip with two rounded corners. Its length is measured directly along the figure and is equal to twice the length of the finished frill:

2Ruffle lengths

The straps and belt will be double, so that between them you can hide the open sections of the bib and apron. The optimal width of these parts in finished form is 3 - 3,5 cm. And if you use the edging, as in the photo in a black apron, you will not need allowances.

The length of the belt can correspond to the waist, that is, equal to its girth with an allowance for the fastener and a margin for growth. But you can make a long belt with the ability to tie it into a bow.

Having dealt with the dimensions of the parts and writing them down, you can start cutting.

Fold the fabric in half so that there is a distance between the fold and the edge equal to half the width of the apron.

After cutting out the apron, cut out strips of frills and a bib. It will be possible to round the ends of the frills later, as well as to give the bib the shape of a trapezoid.

Then, from the rest of the fabric, cut out strips of the belt and straps. To speed up the process, you can fold it in half.

After cutting, an even more exciting process awaits us - fitting, which is best done directly onHow to sew a school apron? 2 the figure of the client.

First, we tie or pin the blank of the belt and pin the blanks of the apron, bib and straps to it at the right angle. Now it's time to correct the shape and size of the details.

When the correction is completed, we proceed to sewing the apron.

We carry out assembly or warehouses on the apron and process its edges and bottom. If the allowances are not laid, then the edges can be edged or narrow lace can be sewn along them using a zigzag. For convenience, you can round two corners by folding the apron in half.

We process the bib only along the upper cut - lace, edging or hem, if an allowance was laid.

We turn over the straps one by one and on one side and put a bib between them. We grind the straps and bib along the edging. We edging together, the remaining open sections of the straps, if you do not need to insert a frill. If there is a frill, we put it between the upper and lower straps in the same way as we put in the bib and grind along the edging.

We turn over the lower belt and, having outlined the middle on it, on the apron and bib, combine the marks of the middle, sweep and grind these details.

Then, we turn over the upper belt, put it on and adjust it to the lower belt.

This may be one of the simplest processing of a school apron.
