Possession of modern techniques of cutting and sewing, includes the possession of skills in working with various devices and tools.

In this video master class, we will look at three of the same type of devices for making oblique inlay at home.

With these simple devices, you can easily make the same bias binding as the one sold in stores and is compatible with household binders.

Of course, bias binding can be made from any fabric and any width.

All in all, enjoy watching!

I have long wanted to purchase such devices for ironing oblique inlay. Now the inlay of own production can be inserted into the binder.

The widest allows you to make an inlay with a width of 25 millimeters in finished form, the average - 12 millimeters and the narrowest - 6 millimeters. There are similar devices for ironing inlays of other widths, such as 12 or 20 millimeters, and you can purchase those that suit you.

Today I will make an inlay for finishing the dress of the popular “lady-peasant woman” model, the cutting of which you have already seen on my channel.

I will need about 5,5 meters of wide oblique inlay, and for this I cut strips of fabric 50 millimeters wide along the oblique thread.

I grind the strips, iron the seams, and cut off the excess.

Then, I insert the inlay into the device, advancing it with a needle and ironing it.

It is advisable to wind the ironed slanting inlay on a notebook, postcard or ordinary cardboard so that it does not wrinkle. The only inconvenient moment: in order for the seams to remain ironed out, their allowances have to be pushed under the device.

And you can see the work on different binders using a similar oblique inlay in the following sewing workshops:

"How to edge the neck and flounces with an oblique trim"

"How to replace the overlock"

Sometimes people ask me how to find fixtures if manufacturers, sellers and tailors call them differently. Search in "sewing machine accessories" - just enter this phrase into the search bar.

I hope my video tutorial on bias binding tools was useful to you.
