4. How to cut stretch hippie pants

The cutting of both models is very simple. Seam allowances are not required. The fabric is folded in half face to face.

A little about length correction. If the pattern did not fit in height, then to reduce the length, lay a fold on the pattern in the correction area (it is shaded) or cut and spread apart by the required number of centimeters.

When cutting, you need to pay attention to the fact that heavy synthetic stretch fabrics with high extensibility under their own weight can be strongly stretched and the trousers will be longer than in the cut.

If the width of the PP and ZP does not fit into the width of the fabric, but the ZP can be cut in two parts. How to cut a small dotach wedge is shown in 2 drawing. The wedge is cut off from the pattern and a double seam allowance is added to it at the place of stitching to the RFP, so that after stitching it can be easily adjusted (given the exact shape).

Pants with a wedge - cutting is shown on 2 drawing. The “Wedge” detail for expanding the trousers down from the knee is attached to the sections of the cut. But it is only recommended to mark the incision in order to decide on the fitting whether a flare expansion wedge is needed or not.

Pants with wide flare (picture 3) are cut out even easier - you just need to observe the fractional direction of the parts.

5. How to sew flared hippie trousers with stretch pockets

It should be remembered that choosing the right seams and adjusting the overlock will greatly facilitate and speed up the sewing of the product. In addition, the correct seams will not disperse and will not tear at the wrong moment.

Recommended use only knitted seams and carefully set up overlock

Sewing sequence:

1. Process pockets, as in sports trousers You can use a strip of knitting, but you can also use a strip of the fabric from which you sew trousers. The strip is transverse, and its width in cutting is 4-5 cm (the most convenient width for processing). The length is equal to the length of the entrance to the pocket.
2. When the pockets are ready, stitch the side seams or tuck on the overlock; crotch seams, bow seam and the bottom of the seat seam (about 10 cm). Iron each seam and pull a little in the knee area.
3. Finish the belt. The easiest option is to sew a wide elastic band in a wide zigzag pattern, putting it on the “face” of the trousers and slightly stretching the elastic band. Trousers at the same time, slightly sit down. This method is suitable if the elastic band should be visible. If the elastic needs to be hidden, then it is applied face to face, stitched and folded to the wrong side, and then fixed on the trousers with vertical lines. The belt is ironed.
4. The rest of the seam of the seat is swept away by hand or machine for fitting.
5. On the fitting, the volume of the trousers at the waist and the length are specified.
6. After fitting, we finish processing the seam of the seat and the bottom.
