Sewing and cutting trousers is a rather extensive topic, but it would be incomplete if it were not for the technique of cutting small details used in processing.
In this video tutorial for beginner couturier, cutting a belt, as well as gaps, facings and burlap for pockets of “cut-off barrels” with a straight line of entry and a “frame” is considered.
It is these pockets that are considered trouser "classics", but they can decorate both frivolous women's trousers and skirts.
In a word, if you sew trousers with your own hands, do not miss ...

Small details are cut out from the remnants of cutting the front and back halves of the trousers.
We start with the largest of the remaining parts - the belt.
It is advisable to cut the belt for men's trousers along the shared thread, and for ladies' trousers and for jeans - along the transverse thread. I'll talk more about this in video master class on belt processing.
I cut a strip of fabric 10 cm wide, which is twice the width of the finished belt plus two seam allowances.
Then, I proceed to trimming the gaps for the pockets of the “cut-off barrels” of the “classic sample”.
Please note: I trim the gap for each half separately to match the polka dots. If the fabric is striped, then I combine the stripes, if in a cage, then the cells.
First, I cut out the gap along the side seam, then - along the waist. I mark the entry line and draw a curve so that the gap overlaps the entrance to the pocket by 5-7 cm.
At the second gap, I cut out the curve by overlaying the first gap.
And I cut the burlap, based on the size of the palm according to the same gaps.
For men's trousers I take a "pocket", and for women's - any fabric that I like.
On the back half I will make “frame” pockets. I will show the processing on other trousers.
We need two facings, a valance and burlap - this is for one pocket.
In my case, the length of the “frame” pocket will be 14 cm, so the length of the facings is 18 cm, and the width is 3 cm. The share thread is along the details.
The length of the gap is also 18 cm, and the height is 7 - 8 cm. The share thread is across the details, that is, the same as in the back half.
Burlap is a rectangle 18-20 cm wide and 35-40 cm long.
And perelka - a strip of fabric.
Do you need a dolevik for a “frame” pocket? For men's trousers, you definitely need them, but for women's - no.
The technique of patternless cutting of trousers is shown in detail in two video master classes:
