Fabric consumption for this shirt dress depends, of course, on the length of the sleeve, style and length of the skirt.

The expense for a shirt dress with a maximum length skirt (Du = 110 cm) with a closure to the waist and a long sleeve with a fabric width of 140 cm will be 280 - 300 cm.

The expense for a shirt dress with a maximum length skirt (Du = 110 cm) with a fastener to the bottom of the product and a long sleeve with a fabric width of 140 cm will be 330 cm.

We calculate the expense for a shirt dress with a “Tatyanka” skirt based on the expense for a “Tatyanka” skirt and a bodice with sleeves and small details.

So, for a bodice with long sleeves and small details with a width of 140 cm, depending on the size, 120 - 130 cm will go.

How to cut and sew a sun-tatyanka-maxi dress-shirt

Having chosen a variation of the style and having made patterns of the pockets and sleeves you need and the length you need, you can proceed to the layout.

Before describing the cutting, I will dwell on the features of making patterns and seam allowances that you will add yourself (picture 2).

The shelf should be combined with the pattern of the selection, gluing end-to-end with adhesive tape. Please note that the half-skid should be marked with notches, as shown.

Chest pocket templates should be made of thin cardboard, while the flap should not be made of cardboard - just cut it out of dubbing without seam allowances.

We will need a collar pattern only after trying on and cut out the collar according to the product, and not according to the formal size, so we cut out the largest possible collar. Then select the desired size according to the position of the midline.

Patterns of notches will seriously facilitate and speed up the cutting of the “sun” skirt. For a skirt with a clasp, you will need a notch with a “ledge”, where the lines of the edge of the pick-up, the edges of the bead and the half-skid (middle front line, shelves, PP, products) are marked.

It is worth noting that in this style, the length of the cut of the waist on the recess pattern (which is used to cut the “sun”) and the length of the bottom of the bodice (when the fastener is swept up) may not match. Once again in other words: the length of the waist of the bodice, the length of the waist of the skirt does not have to be the same in this style. Therefore, the notch can be chosen either larger so that the skirt is gathered, or smaller so that the bodice is gathered.

And one more nuance in choosing the size of the notches: in the variant of the style with a fastener to the bottom, if the details of the skirt have to be cut because of the pockets in the side seam, consider the length allowance of 2 cm!

Cuff - it is important not to forget about the cuff, although you do not need a pattern. This part is rectangular, so just calculate its width and length.

Cuff length = Finished cuff length + 2 cm

Cuff width = 2 finished cuff width + 2 cm

The straps (if any) are also rectangular and are calculated like cuffs.

You will add seam allowances yourself, as well as when cutting according to other patterns of Vera Olkhovskaya. But let's take a closer look at the size and purpose of seam allowances (picture 2).

Shoulder, side and seam of the sleeve - 1 cm each. We do not add along the bottom of the sleeve and the hem, but carefully check the length of the sleeve, taking into account 2 cm for processing and an overlap of 3 - 5 cm.

Seam allowances are also not added to the neckline and sprout (back neckline), as well as to the armholes, since if they are added, then the curves will become much shorter.

We add 3-3,5 cm along the bottom of the shelf and back to make a fitting of the bodice, adjusting the length according to the figure. If the bodice is needed with an overlap, the same allowance on the bottom is needed.

Allowances for the breast pocket: along the entry line 2 - 2,5 cm, the rest - 1 cm.

For the valve: 2 cm along the stitching line, the rest - 0,7 - 1 cm.

The collar, as already mentioned, is cut out after trying on from the dubbing without seam allowances, glue the dubbing and add 1 cm along the stitching line and 0,7 along the departure. This is for the bottom collar.

Cut out the top collar along the bottom.

No allowances are added to the rest of the details.

Finally, layouts (figures 3, 4 и 5).

First with a skirt "sun" (drawings 3 и 4 ).

In addition to what you have to cut on the floor, no other difficulties are foreseen.

The fabric is folded in half across, the edges are aligned.

At the left (or right) edges, a recess pattern is laid, surrounded by tailor's chalk or soap (picture 3). From the resulting line, the length of the skirt is plotted radially and a curved line is displayed. The more of these "radii" you measure, the easier it is to derive the bottom curve.

The remaining parts are located in the most economical way.

Pay attention to 3 drawing the version with a skirt without fastening is shown. Side seams run along the edges, and the middle line of the skirt in the transverse direction. The share thread on the side seams threatens with unpleasant defects in the “sun” skirt - they will look tightened, the skirt will quickly deform and it will have to be aligned repeatedly. To avoid this, you should cut off a couple of centimeters from the "sun", as shown in the bubble on picture 3.

If the fastener continues on the skirt (picture 4), then it is easier to process it like a bottom - in a hem with a closed cut. This markup is offered by the "sun recess" pattern with a clasp.

The layout of this version of the style has no differences from the previous one, except for the indentation from the edges to the width of the fastener and its processing. But the location of the design lines on this skirt will turn out to be different: a half-skid (the middle line is in front) and the middle seam at the back is near the edges, the side line of the skirt is transverse.

The middle seam at the back, as in the previous variation, is cut obliquely as far as the indentation from the edges allows.

And the layout with a Tatyanka skirt ( picture 5). It can have only two options: with one stripe for the skirt, as shown in the picture, or with two stripes. The fabric is folded differently: fold along, the edges are combined.

Approximately, for a narrow skirt, one strip of fabric is used for the entire width and length equal to DU+3 cm (the length of the skirt), for a wide one - two stripes for the entire width of the fabric of the same length.

But let's take a look at these differences.

The bodice, skirt and sleeve (if it is a sleeve with a fit) are assembled separately for fitting, and the collar has not yet been cut in any case. If the sleeve is non-stop and the bodice will be worn slouchy, the bodice, sleeve and skirt can be gathered together for fitting.

Pockets can be prepared: iron on the template, process the valve. Pockets in the side seams of the skirt can already be processed.

If the bodice will be without overlap (this option is recommended for girls with wide hips), then on fitting the length of the bodice “beats off”, as in other detachable dresses.

Of course, in any case, the bodice should be chopped off for fitting, aligning the semi-skids of the shelves.

After marking the line connecting the bodice and skirt, you can, without releasing the customer, sweep in the sleeves, sweep the bodice with the skirt and try it on again. On the second fitting, the fit of the sleeve is specified and the length of the skirt is beaten off (leveled off the floor).

After trying on, connect the bodice (without an overlap) with the skirt and process the fastener.

Attention! We cut out the collar after trying on and processing the fastener. We cut it along the length of the neck of the product. When cutting, we select a suitable middle line on the pattern. We cut out from the dubbing (doublerin or non-woven - depends on the fabric), stick the dubbing on the rest of the fabric and cut it out with processing allowances. This is the bottom collar.

The second part of the collar - this will be the upper collar - is cut out according to the blank of the lower collar, while the seam allowances will increase by a couple of millimeters, which will make it easy to perform the desired fit when turning.

Having processed the collar, stitch it.

If the sleeves have not yet been sewn in, they should also be sewn in.

Finish sewing the dress bottom processing, vymetyvanie loops and sewing on buttons.

For the “sun”, it is recommended that the bottom be processed into a hem with an open cut, an opikka or a rolled seam, depending on the fabric.

For "Tatyanka" it will be traditional to hem with an open or closed cut, depending on the fabric.
