Where is the lightning?

Unfortunately, this dress is rather low-tech, so even an experienced tailor may have a question about how to put it on. The fastener on buttons reaches the waist and the bodice is adjacent, there are pockets in the side seams.

There are two options and each has its drawbacks. Let's consider them in order.

If there is a zipper at the back in the middle seam from the level of the shoulder blades down to the hips (see photo), then everything looks logical and simple, except for the pockets in the side seam. The fact is that the shelf is wider than the back and the side seam is shifted slightly back due to this. Keeping your hands in your pockets will be inconvenient, especially if you skimp on a fluffy skirt.

If the zipper is in the side seam, then the pockets will have to be moved forward. This can be done with long arbitrary (but always symmetrical) darts on the front panel of the skirt. I prefer the second option, as such a dress will be more comfortable to wear.

Cutting and sewing dresses

It is not difficult to determine the direction of the share in this style.

In the back, the lobar is parallel to its midline or perpendicular to the waist line. In the shelf - parallel to the edge of the side. For rack and cuffs - parallel to the midline. In the sleeve - along the detail.

Seam allowances are standard. Sprout (this is the name of the neck of the back), neck, sleeves, armholes, burlap pockets - without allowance. On the bottom of the bodice we add - 3 - 3,5 cm to perform the fitting. The remaining allowances - 1 cm.

The frill is 7-8 cm wide, as it is better to make it double, ironing it in half lengthwise. The length of the frill should be 2,5 - 3 times the length of the collar.

Allowance for the hem of the skirt (preferably a hem with a closed cut), depending on its width, will be 2 - 5 cm.

The most important point is to combine the details of the shelf and the selection. Why these patterns should be glued end-to-end along the line of the edge of the board. The notches indicate a semi-skid - the middle line of the shelf, passing through the middle of the body (through the jugular cavity and the navel).

Thus, we get a shelf with a one-piece selection. A one-piece bead will save processing time, but it can be disadvantageous when cutting large sizes.

Cuffs - choose the size according to the volume of the forearm. The dimensions of the cuff are not marked, since the volume of the forearm at the wrist and above depends on the thickness of the bones and a plump woman can have rather thin arms, or vice versa - an elegant girl has not too thin wrists.

We immediately cut out the cuffs with a double one to get a fold along the edge of the finished cuff. To facilitate cutting, you can immediately cut the dubbing cuff along the pattern and cut it, laying the dubbing next to the pattern (Fig. 2).

In addition to the cuff, you should duplicate the lower strut and the rib.

Tatyanka skirt - a strip of fabric, but two stripes across the entire width of the fabric are better, so that the skirt is more fluffy.

Now about sewing.

We start with stitching-ironing the tucks of the back-shelf and one-piece selection: we duplicate and iron. Then, we “collect” the skirt - seams, pockets, assembly.

The processing of pockets in the side seam or in an arbitrary tuck is very simple: burlap is sewn to the cuts, the stitching points are overcast and secured with a finishing line (closer to the edge) so that the burlap does not fall out. Then the burlap is sewn. Pay attention to the shape of the burlap - it has a ledge that must be attached to the waist after connecting the skirt to the bodice. This will ensure that the burlap will not hang out and will not increase the volume of the hips.

Fitting.

When trying on, you need to note the length of the bodice according to the figure (for convenience, a large allowance was left at the waist) and sweep the sleeve.

After trying on, the bodice is connected to the skirt - it is ground, overcast, the seam is ironed. The collar is processed and stitched. The zipper is sewn on and the bottom is processed.
