In the photo, look at the version of the dress according to this pattern, which was sewn by Kristina Daricheva.
In the pattern, to reduce the difference, she reduced the length at the back by 10 cm. The dress sewn by Christina is quite suitable for the New Year's Eve and other special occasions.
In the second photo, there is another version of the dress according to this pattern from the subscriber @mod_metr:
"The village is perfect, it's a pleasure to sew. I recommend the pattern to beginner craftswomen! I'm not a pro, I sew for myself and for my family, sometimes to order. Thank you Vera for your work! The fit is always perfect! This model perfectly hides figure flaws and slims."

How to cut a trapezoid dress with a length difference
Cutting an a-line dress is extremely simple, but before considering the possible layouts, let's talk about the processing of the neck and the details that may be needed for this, and also consider the popular question of where to make the zipper.
The best way to process the neck is to process it with a facing (undercut).
If you are not going to adjust the neckline during the fitting, then the facings can be cut out according to the patterns of the front and back.
Facings are cut out from dubbing without seam allowances (seam allowances are added after gluing the dubbing blanks to the fabric, but more on that later).
See video master class how to change the neckline of a dress on a fitting...
Neckline dThis dress is large enough to be sewn without a fastener.
You can check whether a fastener is needed as follows: measure the length of the sprout-neck according to the pattern or product and multiply the amount by two. Make a "ring" from a centimeter tape and try to put it on.
If you need a longer cutout, then the facing of the sprout (the so-called neck of the back) is cut out with a protrusion for the fastener (figure 2 on the left). The most successful form of the fastener is a “drop” 8-10 cm long, 4 cm wide when unfolded.
On the figure 2a shows facings for a dress with long sleeves, on figure 2b - for a sleeveless dress. In this case, the optimal width of the facing is 4 - 5 cm.
An alternative to the drop closure is a zipper in the middle back seam. If the dress is planned with a middle seam (pictures 3 и 4).
Now about the seam allowances for the details of the back, front and sleeves.
To the shoulder and side sections, as well as to the “vertical” sections of the sleeve, we add 1 or 1,5 cm each. For the hem of the bottom of the dress - 1 - 1,5 cm. Sprout (back neck), neck, armholes and sleeve hem - we leave it without allowances, since by adding allowances for the seams to the neck-armhole, we will make them shorter, the okat will also be distorted. Above the tucks - allowances - "houses".
Layout for dress cut
Let's start with a simple "jack" with a middle seam on the back ( picture 3): fold the fabric in half, face inward, with the edges parallel to each other and to the edge of the cutting table. Lay the patterns in the most economical way, taking into account the seam allowances.
"Jack" for large sizes looks a little different (picture 4), the fabric is folded in half and the edges are aligned.
Opening a trapeze dress without a middle seam is best done in two stages (picture 5). First, cut out the back and shelf. Pay attention to how the fabric is folded - a fold for the shelf and a fold for the back. To cut the sleeve, the fabric is folded along the width of the sleeve and this is the second stage of cutting. This layout is only suitable for small sizes.
Large sizes of an A-line dress with a back without a middle seam are also cut out in two stages (picture 6). First, the shelf and back are cut out - we fold the fabric along the width of the shelf, then the sleeves - we fold the fabric in half across.
How to sew a do-it-yourself trapeze dress with a length difference
We start by sewing and ironing the darts, continue by sewing, overcasting and ironing the middle seam of the back, if it is provided. If you need a zipper, we sew it.
See video how to process a zipper without fixtures
И video how to sew a zipper with fixture.
Next, we grind, overcast and iron or iron the shoulder and side seams. The same with the seam of the sleeve.
On the remnants of the fabric we glue the blanks of facings from dublerin, add allowances for the seams of 1 cm in places where the fragments of the facings are connected to each other (shoulder seams, middle seam).
For more information about cutting facings and processing their necks, see video tutorial...
The bottom is processed into a hem with an open cut, that is, it is overcast and folded once, swept up, ironed and hemmed by hand or on a typewriter. Machine stitches can be varied: straight, decorative, hidden.
See video how to process the bottom of the dress in different ways ...
Please note that the hem for such an uneven bottom should not exceed 1 cm.
