Sewing a lush frill on regiline

This sewing video is for beginners, but more experienced tailors may be interested, as dresses and blouses with lush ruffles on soft leggings have become fashionable recently.

The frill should be stitched into a ring with a double seam and double hem should be ironed from the side of the regiline along its width.

For such a frill, we need two transverse strips of fabric with a width of 30 cm or more. The finished length of the frill should be at least two meters 70 centimeters.

A soft reguilin with a width of 2 to 5 cm. I have a reguilin width of 2 cm.

The second cut of the frill with a drawstring for an elastic band is processed in the same way: a double hem is ironed and a line is laid. To screw in the elastic, the line does not close, that is, its beginning and end are at a distance of 1,5 cm.

Then, an elastic band is pulled in a little longer than necessary, a bodice is applied and pricked.

The bodice and frill are sewn in a zigzag pattern - see photo. At the fitting, the elastic is tightened, as if according to the figure, and its ends are ground off.
