How to cut a do-it-yourself dress-dress-shirt

1. Cutting a sundress dress is not difficult.
2. For small sizes, the fabric is folded in half lengthwise (picture 2), and for large ones - across (picture 3).

Seam allowances and notches

Seam allowances of 1 cm are added to all cuts, except for the neckline and the edge of the collar.

Note that the curve of the side seam under the arm can be distorted by too much seam allowance.

Notches for pockets are made on the front and back along the side seam immediately after cutting.

To do this, fold all four sections of the side seams together and, stepping back from the waist down by 5 cm, make a notch.

You will attach the pocket burlap to it before stitching.

The allowance when cutting out the collar on the fly away will be 0,7 - 1 cm, and the allowance is not added along the stitching line.

Step-by-step sequence of cutting and sewing a sundress dress

If a dress or sundress is sewn in a single copy, you should not cut out all the details at once.

This sequence of operations has several reasons, but the most important is the ability to change the product during fitting.

In this case, it is important to be able to change the width of the neckline, based on the girth of the shoulders, therefore, the collar should be cut out after trying on.

Next, we have a "mixed" sequence.

1. Cut out the back and shelf, mark the construction lines and folds at the waist.
2. Iron the bead, bending first 1 cm, then again, making a fold along the line of the edge of the bead. Please note that the double hem of the selection can be done on the face or on the wrong side. Having tucked the selection, sweep it.
3. Stitch the burlap along the notch, overcast and iron the seams.
4. Stitch the center back seam and side seams. Overcast cuts, iron or iron. The side seam allowance on the rounding under the arm should be pulled back.
5. Baste soft folds at the waist, if provided, and baste the shoulder seams.
6. When trying on, you should specify the width of the cutout, based on the width of the shoulders. If necessary, loosen a fragment of the shoulder seam or shift the edge of the shelf.
