6. How to cut a robe, dress and kimono peignoir according to ready-made patterns

After choosing the style, we choose the size (freer or tighter, do not get attached to the size number), check the length of the product and adjust the patterns, if necessary.

Seam allowances - 1 cm, except for the sprout, which is without an allowance. The bottom allowance depends on how you will process the bottom. Think it through ahead of time.

The fabric is folded in half across, that is, the fold is perpendicular to the edges. If it is planned to try on the bodice separately, then when cutting, we add an additional allowance for the waist - up to 4 cm.

And for fabrics, the border of which cannot be duplicated due to transparency, for example, let the share coincide with the edge of the border. An example in fig. 3.

After cutting, do not forget to mark the half-skid and sides with notches or threads on the details of the cut.

7. How to sew a dressing gown or peignoir

The sequence is very simple, requires ironing after EVERY operation:

1. We collect the bodice - a fold or tuck, iron the hem, overstitch the growth, shoulder, side.
2. We collect the skirt - a pocket, a fold, iron the hem, middle seam, side seams.
3. We try on the bodice - they connected it along a half-skid, tied a linen elastic around the waist, outlined the waist, trimmed it.
4. We connect the bodice with the skirt and you can try it on again to beat off the bottom. Usually, at this stage, ties are sewn, if provided, or loops are made in the seam of the connection of the shelf and bodice. These are gaps in the line with reliable bartacks.
5. We process the bottom of the robe and sleeves.
6. Finishing ironing.
