Cutting and sewing a dress with two semi-reliefs
The zipper can be positioned both in the middle seam of the back from the level of the shoulder blades to the level of the hips, and in the side seam.
The neck is recommended to be processed with turnings, which are cut out according to the patterns of the middle of the back and the middle of the shelf (Fig. 2). As usual, facings are cut out of dublerin without seam allowances. Seam allowances are added after gluing the facing blanks onto the fabric.
Of course, the facing can also be cut out according to the product after trying it on.
See sewing master class video how to cut out the neckline on the product after trying on
Seam allowances are regular (Fig. 3 - 4). This means that we DO NOT add sleeves to the sprout (neck of the back), neck, armhole and hem. If you add, then the concave lines will become shorter, and the convex ones will become longer.
To the relief cuts, shoulder, side and middle seams - add 1 - 1,5 cm each.
At the bottom of the sleeve, add 1 - 2 cm, that is, as much as you need for a hem with an open or closed cut. Above the tuck is an allowance-"house".
Please note that this dress can be cut both with the middle seam of the shelf (Fig. 3) and without it - with a solid middle part (Fig. 4). The side seam may also not reach the bottom of the skirt (Fig. 3).
The differences in the cutting of these options are small.
If we cut with the middle seam of the shelf (Fig. 3), then we fold the fabric across and combine the edges.
If we cut without a middle seam along the shelf (Fig. 4), then we fold the fabric along and combine the edges.
Another option is possible: cutting without a middle seam along the back (Fig. 4 b).
The sleeve can be cut out both along the share thread, that is, when the share coincides with the middle line of the sleeve (Fig. 3) or along the oblique thread (Fig. 4).
Now, the most interesting thing is the skirt.
As you already understood from the beginning of the description and fig. 1, on the patterns only the top of the skirt. The lower part is a rectangle of any desired length, to one of the sides of which all the details of the cut, except for the sleeve, should be attached.
Skirt length (Du) is measured from the waist line, which is marked on the patterns with notch marks and a dotted line.
When calculating Du products, consider the processing of the bottom with an open or closed cut. In other words, from 2,5 to 4 cm should be added to Du.

Sewing a dress with two half-reliefs is not very difficult, but it requires great precision in cutting and sewing.
It is very important that the waist marks match, which must be done on the details of the cut in the form of notches.
Sewing should begin with the processing of semi-reliefs, and then, side and middle seams. They should be stitched, overcast and ironed. The middle seam of the front and the middle seam of the back, if they reach the bottom of the product, are ironed out.
At the same stage, it is necessary to sew a zipper.
See sewing video how to sew a zipper with a tool
In ironed and swept relief allowances, if the dress turns out to be very tight-fitting, you can insert “bones”.
If you prefer reguilin, then it can be stitched on an allowance, and the allowance itself can be attached to the dress in the waist area and under the bust.
The length of the "bone" or piece of regilin is determined by fitting.
For fitting, you should also prepare the sleeve: stitch and iron the tuck, stitch, overcast and iron the seam, make a hem with an open or closed cut.
The sleeve can be swept in right at the fitting, after clarifying the contour of the armhole and the fit of the dress.
Having tried on the dress again, already with the sleeve turned in, you can finish it: process the neck, armhole and bottom.
