This model has many cutting options, and the choice of option depends to a greater extent on what fabric you are going to sew this dress from.

Please note that the pleated neckline is not sewing for beginners. For sewing dresses of medium complexity, you must have some sewing skills.

Before cutting, be sure to check the length of the skirt and do not forget about notches.

For "chiffon" variations of this style, it is desirable that the bodice be double.

In this case, the “upper” bodice must necessarily be of a free silhouette, and the “lower” (cover) must be adjacent.

You have already noticed that in the set of patterns, the detail of the bodice of the shelf has two lines of the side seam - for adjacent and for free silhouettes.

The volume of the back at the waist is regulated by the presence or absence of the middle seam and tuck.

For reasons of fabric economy, the cutting of the chiffon version is carried out in two stages (picture 2).

First, a bodice is cut out, more precisely, two bodices - “upper” and “lower”.

In this case, the fabric is folded in a special way, as shown in the diagram in the bubble.

For a skirt, the fabric is folded in half. When laying the halves of the skirt, remember that the middle seam of the skirt should not coincide with the shared thread and hem, otherwise the skirt will be shorter in this place.

It is also cut in two steps: first the bodice, then the skirt.

The fabric for the bodice is folded along the width of the details of the front and back (see diagram in the bubble).

For a skirt, the fabric is folded in half.

In silk variations, other patterns of skirts can also be used.

The seam allowances for chiffon and silk are the same:

1. lateral, shoulder, middle - 1 - 1,5 cm each;
2. necklines, armholes, waist cuts - cut out "beyond the stroke line", that is, with an actual allowance of up to 0,5 cm;
3. on the bottom of the bodice - 3 cm to correct the waist line, and on the bottom of the skirt - depending on the method of processing the bottom you have chosen.

Stretch cutting option the simplest, but to save money it is also advisable to cut in two steps - first the bodice, then the skirt.

Allowances, especially if you sew a dress with a knitted seam, are not necessary: ​​we pin the patterns onto the fabric and cut them out.
